I'm sure the best therapy is a good 7-8 HRs of rest-- habitually. But for us late night work-aholic:

Sprinkle of water over the eyes and place sliced potatoes for 10 mins would work? Well, according to this link that is.

Maybe its a Los Angeles thing that I feel self conscious about

Anybody?

join the club:tongue: I get home from a 9am-9pm day at 10 oclock after a 1 hour commute home. Shower and TV and im getting into bed at 2am. Then up again at 7am for the next day of 9am -9pm hell. Try three straight days of this:mad:

used tead-bags...

Caffeine, or similar metabolite from 'used' tea bags works well for dark-circles & 'bags' under the eyes from stress, lack of sleep, over-exertion, fatigue, crying, etc'...

It's a similar principle that is involved w/ how 'used' coffee grounds reduce the appearance of cellulite & firm up loose, untoned skin in certain areas, as per used by female models, actresses, and so forth.

 Interesting-- Better save my tea bags.

Pssshhh, child's play. See how you feel at 8:00 AM Wednesday after an 8:00 AM Monday to 8:00 PM Tuesday work "day". :frown:

pvmike, you are the first to beat my usual work schedule...what do you do?

What a coincidence?! I was starting to feel like a little girl for having googled "get rid of baggy eyes" last week. Glad to know fellow NSXers are in the same boat!

I also heard the potato thing is best, and almost picked up a potato

I also bought this cream from Clinique for men...comes in a tiny tube and costs around 30 bucks...I haven't had the time to use it yet...maybe tonight...after I get home from work...

when we get swamped for school, and then my freelance on top of that...

it gets a little crazy. finals week last semester i broke my own record with 80 straight hours of awaketime...which was all worktime, minus a meal and a 5 min drive here and there.

30straight hours of working on a project isn't uncommon.

Now don't laugh everyone, because I am serious... But I have been told that Haemorrhoid cream works on dark circles under the eyes...

Anyone tried this before?

extortion...

The Clinique eye-cream probably has green-tea extract as one of it's main ingredients, namely caffeine. Same w/ another notable cream from MAC. They both work well, but 30-bucks is way-way too much for what it does... it'll be the same as using formerly used, damp tea-bags.

Towards the end of med'school, I too was desperate to find some remedy for the undesired dark-circles & bags underneath the eye. I tried a fair amount of creams, gels, etc'... the Clinique & MAC were easily the best.

(Hemorrhoid cream will help tighten up the loose skin; it won't addess the dark-circles or the puffiness as much, per'se as chilled tea-bags & cool slices of tater & cucumber)

Re: extortion...

well i can currently say in the past 4 years i have hardly done more than a 40 hour week. although i worked for a college for a while, and it was not uncommon to have 40 hours by Wednesday at noon, or to work 100+ hours week. those days were fun, but i really enjoy what i do now. if i work an 8 hour day i am upset. ;)

how do you guys stay up to get bags under your eyes? someone along the subject........lets reverse it. HOW do you stay up? caffein is not working.

Someone should call his boss about this.......

Funny, my life has been super busy and stressfull lately and this morning I was admiring how crappy the bags under my eyes are. My skin tone naturally gives me darker areas around my eyes, but lately this is rediculous. I will have to try the tea bag thing tonight. I will have to ask my wife to help per Stalker and Zuerst...

You don't need tea bags, you need a coffin.
I'll see you in the ER one of these days.

Has anybody really tried this raw potato thing? It sounds like a prank, but if it works I am up for trying. (I can see somebody doing it wrong trying to scoop their leftover Christmas dinner mashed potatoes into their eye though  )

I've had spring time allergy problems all my life (not as bad now that I am older though) and feel that it may be a factor in my puffiness under my eyes. People don't notice it much, but it really bothers me though. I have tried most of the remedies like creams you buy at places like Walmart, expensive creams you buy at cosmetic stores, hemorrhoid creams (really gross by the way), and ice with little or no luck. I don't really have dark circles, but just the puffiness and it shouldn't be from a lack of sleeping. However, it is worst in the mornings and when I am tired.

What tea bags do you need for this so I don't end up drawing more attention to them with stained skin under my eyes that taste like Chai or raspberry or something?

What does a potato have in it to shrink swelling under the skin? I would think that since it doesn't contour to the face very well that it would be hard to work well under the entire eye. With my allergies, I can just see me swelling up like a balloon and looking like Rocky I, II, III, IV, V, VI, and the other 4 more that they will eventually make.

I guess this could be a reason why I am more tired and why I get less sleep...

Hey Mani,

Sorry for the delay. I didn't check back on this thread.

I'm in land planning/RE development. Private company here in the OC. I see by your profile that you're in I banking. I don't envy you either.

Potato? Never heard of that before. How about some fries under my eyes?

jlindy, some of the puffiness may be the slow gradual increase in fat under the eye area that begins to "sag". No offense, but as we all get older, this can get worse. I am not saying you look old. Unless you remember it always being there, this could be part of what is going on.

I have the same reason for being tired as you do! I also have another reason on the way! Sheesh, what am I doing to myself?
