Getting ready for the new car...

Awesome  I wonder if you can order hardtop version now a days. You going to paint the top black?

Only in Japan, unfortunately (and my wife and I both love the removabke top). There's another NSX-R conversion coming form another Prime member who's done the roof.

The roof and mirrors are being painted black, the USDM sidemarkers are getting shaved (aluminum panels welded in) and the JDM pieces installed. The undercoating is coming off and paint will be spotted in as needed.

While I'm trying to be as accurate as I can, I am diverging somewhat, as it's what I would do. The car will still be supercharged, retain A/C and radio (they're options on the real NSX-R). The beauty of this whole project is that the only "permanent" change is the side marker lamps; everything else can be swapped back to stock (I always keep all my OEM parts).

Are you going to do the Type-R gauges?

Sort of - we've got something in development that replicates the look but retains the US mph. If it works as we expect it to, expect it to be available to others looking for the same look without spending $1000+ on a gauge cluster.

That would be great. I thought about upgrading my dials to the blue from the 02+. When I priced it out well over $1000, I thought... no thanks.

The Speedo and TACH etc. are blue. Not the lights.. The NSX-R is Grey.

May be the oxcontin from the wisdom teeth i had extracted 6 hours ago, but they look white to me... have a pic? If my concept works, I can do anything on the gauges.

Hey Ryan. NetViper means the regular 2004 gauges are white on dark blue, while those on the NSX-R are orange on gray carbon-fiber pattern.

Re: Gauges

Got it - when I pull mine, I'll try to get an accurate color match. Should be able to use the process I'm doing to create US-style NSX-R gauges to produce other colors/designs.

Great pic's Ryan.
Looks like your building it in your living room, but don't forget you have to get it through your front door. lol

Even worse - it's an upstairs spare bedroom. One glight of stairs with a landing, then out the front door and around to the garage :)

Where did you get the carpet, Ryan?

I just checked the site and did not see it...

No door panel swap needed - NSX-R doors look like the standard ones.

It's the standard New Formula Red carpet ("floormats" section) for a 2004.

What was the end total on all of that?

Without the actual floormats (I'm going to get a custom set with no embroidery), it was around $1000 for the new carpet set.

Not bad...did they take long to arrive?

I think it was about a week or so... they're usually really quick about parts.
