For what it's worth...

My oil pressure gauge always reads 2-1/2 when idling (once warm) and around 6 when on the gas. The other day I noticed that it would idle around 1 and 4 on the gas. Then occasionally it would go back to the normal 2-1/2.

I pulled the clip that went to the oil pressure sender (under the coolant expansion tank) and sprayed it with some electrical contact cleaner.

Back to normal now reading 2-1/2 at idle.

Just thought I would pass it on for those who run into this problem too.

Use a bit of dielectric grease on the clip when you put it back together. It is humid enough out here the grease can prevent some of the 'bad contact' problems with connectors in the engine compartment where temps have a wide range. I use a bit of dielectric grease on all the engine compartment connections.

Most auto parts store will have small tubes of it, I have been working on the same 1 ounce tube for 4 years:rolleyes:

I have found this to be a solution to 02 sensor codes too, especially with headers and the extension cord you need for the front sensor. A little grease in both clips can help keep a good signal over the years.

Thanks for posting, this info will come in handy if I come across this in the future.
