is there an 'easy' way to replace the fuse boxes in the front of the car? (spare tire area, the big fuse box and the one to the left) i bought some from a wrecked car since mine are in horrible shape, but it seems i would have to cut and splice all of the wires to replace it. apparently the boxes don't come apart (or so it seems).

thanks!

The fuse boxes that you are referring to are part of the wire harness when you get the complete harness. Unless you can get them apart and there are connectors you can unplug from the bottom side of the fuse box you will have to cut and splice which I DON'T recommend you do. If your fuse box is in that bad of shape you might want to consider replacing the whole wire harness it usually is not that big of a deal to do. Hope this helps.

LOOK CAREFULLY AT THE TWO BOXES AND MAKE SURE THEY ARE EXACTLY THE SAME BEFORE ATTEMPTING THIS TRANSFER!
You don't want to cut and splice.
I hope that the way this box was removed is that they unbolted it from the donor car and cut the main harness some where outside the box.

First. I guess from your name (pixelhause) that you have a digital camera.
Take a good close up photo of your old box to see the fuse/wiring configuration. Print up a copy to have next to the car while you work.(make sure to save the file)
Start with the replacement box.
Turn the replacement box over and look around
the lower perimeter. There are a few little
tabs that hold the bottom cover to the sides. Push these in and work the bottom off.
Once you have this off you can see how the individual wires are held in place.
You may find that the seats for the individual components can be worked out and if so you might be able to just pop them in from the origignal harness.
There may be little tabs that have to be depressed to work each wire out from the box.
I have not done this to a NSX but have done it to a variety of other Hondas as well as most other makes. Each is a little different.
I suggest a set of small needle nose pliers and some jewelers screw drivers to work these wires/sockets out.You will probably need to remove all the fuses, relays and links before you start.
This can be a very hard job. Start early in the day (it could take some time), have plenty of light and patience. Good luck.
This can be a tough job. If after removing the unwanted parts from the donor box and you find it overwhelming then, you can stop and no harm is done to your car.
I suggest you give this job to a experienced pro.

thanks for all of the responses.
the condition of the fuse boxes are pretty bad. the larger one appears to be melted on the bottom and sides. don't know how that happened. the one to the left is entirely destroyed. held together by electrical tape (barely hanging there).
the new fuse boxes that i got were from a european nsx but appears to be the same. the guy cut the harness at about two inches from the box. so the large grouping of wires (about 24 or so) are cut and exposed. this is how both of them are.
