Fuel lines change with fuel filter change?

The service manual recommends a fuel filter change after some time. It also states that the fuel lines (rubber ones) should be replaced too. Just wondering who did this? The fuel lines are quite expensive ($160 for two rubber parts) but I don't want do think about the rare event of a fire in the engine compartment.

Does the book say to replace the fuel lines at the same time as the fuel filter change? I just changed out the filter and didn't think about the fuel lines. Can someone chime in if they have done this.

I guess you are saying that you prefer to drive around with your fingers crossed to save $160 and avoid what is recommended for servicing, is that your question?

No, not at all. It's worth $160 compared to the catastrophic failure scenario.

As mentioned above it's quite expensive for fuel lines in general. Regarding other and THIS post I'm the amoung those who mostly care about preventative servicing. That's why I asked myself how many out there did change the lines as I suspect that most of the owners didn't. THAT was my question. :)

The service manual states every 4 (!) years or 60k miles! I think that overkill. But I know that there are a lot of NSX's here in Switzerland who didn't change in the past 16 years.

Did you change yours?
