other than the dealer gadget and going by the fault code, is there any way we can check if the wheel sensor is really faulty? as in, may be put a multi meter across it to measure the resistance??
The sensors are very durable, just magnet and a coil of wire so they very seldom fail. Normally the problem is the wires getting damaged when work is done. You could ohm a couple of them out and see what the approximate value is and be mostly sure if they are good or bad. To look at the signal you will need an Oscilloscope.
Yes and Oscopes are not cheap! I recently had a tcode for my front left sensor so I brought it into my Electronics and Electrical two class. Got under her and saw the wire had been cut. Weird. I had been going without abs and tcs for sometime now. witht he occasional limp mod. Which suck A$$ so. I got under striped the wire got some extra tension that was spare from inside the hood compartment and soldered and heat shrank it. It worked like a champ!
