Maybe an RSX? We had a customer trade in an 01 Cobra and an 01 NSX on a 2003 leftover RSX  Stick with no leather....

I just saw the car this morning when I took mine in for a service. I wanted to speak with a sales person, but there was no one around. I'll take another look at it tomorrow when I pick mine up.

The service manager told me it sold there and then the person brought it back with the 5K on it. Don't know why.

Lots of reasons someone returns a car like this.. Lots of money, and not utilitarian, so who knows..

I see this car is in NC! I need to look at my owners manual again, but my 1991 was originally bought at a dealer in NC; I wonder if it is the same :)

How much cash did he get on top of it???

Doesn't make one bit of sense

That car was traded in to darcars Chrysler a month ago, it's still on cars.com at their store at $69,995. When I contacted them it had sold at the Fredricksburg Auto Auction to another dealer for $69,000. Member Jasonweaver's dealership lised it for sale on the for sale forum a week ago for $73,500ish. They then wholesaled it to the dealer that's listing it on ebay now. Yours truly is currently e bay's high bidder, with a lot of room to go:)
Supposedly it's nice, Good Luck!!

PM sent.

What good is being the "high bidder" if you haven't met the reserve ?

Good point, Howver I'm not paying crazy money for a used '04 when the market won't bear it. That car has sold wholesale 3 times in the last few weeks around $69,000. These guys all want to sell around $73,000. While I don't blame them I'm not paying $73,000 for a soon to be 2 year old car. I can buy a new 2006 as soon as they come out for $80,000 +/- from my local Acura dealer. If I can save 10 grand a get one sooner I will . To pay crazy money to hit these ridiculous reserves dealers are setting is something I won't do. I've been the useless high bidder (or 2nd) on the last 20 or so 2002-2004 NSX's to come on e bay. If every 02 does $60,000 and every 04 does $70,000 that seems to me to be what the market will bear. Looks like I'll end up like you NSX-guy and just end up waiting to buy new, yet I hate to wait......

An 06 would be worth much more than 80K.

The dealer told me invoice on an 05 is $79,xxx, he'll sell to me $500 over cost. He'll make the same deal on a 2006 at $500 over cost, whatever cost may be, I'm only assuming it'll be relatively similar.

Problem with such a limited market (both buyers and sellers of course) is prices vary quite a bit.

Around Feb there was a brand new '04 Orange (my #1 choice) for sale for 73K not very far from me. I was not prepared to pull the trigger then and by the time I WAS ready it was gone.

The, a month or so later there was a used (3K miles ?) '04 Orange for sale right here on nsxprime, also not very far from me, for 79K and the gentleman, while claiming he was "forced" to sell it, was standing firm. With new '05's at around 82K, no way was I buying the '04 for 79 and no way was he going anywhere near 73K (which I probably would have paid). I'm not sure what happened to it as I don't see it here anymore.

Finally, when a good deal came up where I could trade-in all 3 of *my* cars and get my used '04 S4 AND lease a blue '05 NSX I pulled the trigger. It's hard to go wrong with that special lease deal whether I walk away in 3 years or buy it.

Anyway, I guess the point is, it's tough, because of what's out there, to get the deal you want. Maybe you can wait a little while and make an offer for that '04 Yellow. Time will tell.

Good luck.

Its funny you say that. I was initially researching 02's (only because I found a '02 automatic semi-locally) as I mentioned the market seems to be about $60,000 for a decent car. The more studying I did I see a few sold back 6-8 months ago around $55,000. I guess time will tell., thanks for your help.

Actually, all indications I've seen are that the 2005 model year is it. No 2006; supposedly there's some new side-imact regulations going into effect that the NSX doesn't or can't meet.

That also assumes the dealer can get the car. We're having to wait 4-5 months for the color we want to be built (and it was a special allocation, given that the dealer was replacing our 2004 they wrecked); if it's common you may be able to find a deal, otherwise, they'll still price them somewhere between $82-$84k.

Are you sure there will even be an 06 to buy?

Well unless my local dealer was lying to me, he told me he could order a yellow / orange 2006 NSX for me easily if I wanted to go new so that should be no problem. Now at +500 over invoice that is a pretty good deal too :)

It seems like these cars really hold their value quite well so with my budget I may be stuck with a 97-99 example if I can even find one....argh!

I already have quite an investment in my cars / bike so I really don't want another 80K tied up in a car when I can put it into real estate and make some money.

Decisions, decisions!

Nothing, he owed money on both and actually had to come out of pocket with quite a bit of $$$

I know there are still NEW leftover 2004 models out there. I just bought my 2004 (NEW LEFTOVER..15 mi. on the odometer) for 76K. I wanted a used car originaly but I thought it was crazy to buy a used 04 for 68-72K when I could buy a NEW car for 76K...............just my .02

I agree with Brandon - it all depends on your color choice and what's available, though. Trying to find a GPW/Black NSX-T (2004 or 2005) was impossible, and we've been looking for months. Closest we got was Superior Acura telling my dealer they wanted to make $7000 over invoice on a GPW/Ivory 2005.... nope. Silverstone, LBBP, New Formula Red and even to an extent Rio Yellow are much easier to come by.

eBay is a pretty poor way to judge prices - most people on there are bidding to see if they could, by some stroke of luck, get it for that price. Hell, when I was itching for a sports car I had $32k bids in on 3 or 4 older Z06s (just below trade in value), but none met reserve. Are they worth more - sure... but I only bid to try to get a bargain that I could flip easily when our '05 arrives.

My $0.25 :)

oh, ok, now it makes sense...DUDE WAS BROKE!!!

Sadly this is becoming a common occurence in the states. We currently have the highest rate of housing foreclosures in history. I would love to have an NSX RIGHT NOW, but I realize it will make more sense to do it 2-3 years from now.

My deal... I buy cars with cash. No joke, if I can’t pay for it in cash I won’t get it. I have the credit for a newer NSX on finance. But with school and my own stability where it is. I find it easier to just save up the cash and pay in cash. It may keep me in cars under 30k, but there is something about owning it.. Really having it be yours. It’s like the feeling of freedom you get when you first retire a debt but it's every time you look at it.

So I may only be able to get a 3.0 with a five speed when the time comes… but it’ll be mine and I won’t have to give it up.

That said….student loans…another story
