For anyone interested, I found a 92 red for sale at a dealership in Greenwood Indiana that was traded in. The VIN# is JH4NA1155NT000096. Has 90K miles. Condition looks good from what I could see at night. Interior was immacutate. Evidently the owner was in his late 50s early 60s.

So, if anyone is intersted I can take pictures of it and get more info in wanted. They are asking $24,900. I know there is room to play with this price...

What dealer?? I may drive over and take a look.

Just what you need.......another NSX that works, send it to me and I can fix that for ya. :frown:

Mitch...how did I know that you were going to have a look?

It was at Ray Skillman Ford.

HAHAHA!! So...where is it anyway? What streets? I am still getting used to this city since I live here most of the time but am never here. :frown:

Ray Skillman Ford is in Greenwood...just south of Indy. It is on US 31 south.

I went there today to check it out for someone. The car looks like it is priced about right for an asking price considering the following:

1.) Trunk struts shot
2.) Hatch glass struts shot
3.) Large chip of paint off of front bumper (a couple inches circular)
4.) Paint looks like it was kind of faded then buffed to a respectable shine
5.) Some scratches indicative of a car with 90,100 miles
6.) Mismatched tires (some cheapo 'Fulda' tires on the back
7.) Interior seat bolsters redyed (but done well so it still looks good)
8.) The clutch still grabs strong, and may be the original as it felt like it.

Overall the car is actually very nice for the price. The interior seats are carpets are VERY clean and bright white/ivory, and there are NO tears in the seats from what I could tell. Also, the car has some of the service records in the glove box from a guy names William Lewis from around the area. I test drove the car and it drove strong, the A/C blew SUPER COLD, and the car looks like it would make a great daily driver since the salesman indicated that the price could be had for significantly lower than the $24,890 he said they were asking. PM me for any help, and I can put you in contact with the sales guy I spoke with. I would almost bet if someone walked in there with $22,850 they could walk out with the car.....just my impression. Oh, and they have BOTH the black key and the aluminum key as an added bonus. :)

Why don't white ones come along at those prices! :frown: I don't need another red one!

I will offer my garage queen to you for only $39,999. :D

Mitch...I would LOVE to know how much they gave for that in trade in. Something tells me they have a LOT of room to play with the price. Glad you gave it your thorough inspection.

I was talking to my brother about the price. We were guessing that they probably only gave him between $16,500 and $18,500 for the car. Because we assume that before it got cleaned up the paint was probably fading, the seats were not looking as great, and the car has 90,000 miles and is a 1992 model getting traded in Indiana. It would be a great car to buy if you worked there and could get it for just over their cost. Maybe I should get a part time job there for a few weeks and buy it.....I could always use another NSX... ;) :D

For Mitch...it would have to be "Mr. 10 cars in various storage facilities."

Mitch...we need to get together for a drive soon. Joe and I are going to take one last fall drive soon. Are you in?

Depends on the day. My schedule changes so much I have almost stopped making firm plans for anything. :(

Anyway, just give me an idea of when you guys are thinking of getting together as I would really like to get together while the weather is still good. I am pretty sure the next two weekends are out though.

Went by the dealership last night. There was a sold sign in the window. The salesman was clueless. He first said he thinks they wanted 25,500 (wrong, $24995) then when I showed interest it went up to $26000 something.

Anyway, curious if a member bought it?

Meeyatch, you were certainly right about that paint. I'm not even sure a real good buffing could bring it back. Just got to keep looking and dreaming I guess.

Yeah, they seemed kind of unsure about a lot of things with that car, including the price. Do you remember the name of the sales guy you talked to?

Keep up the search, my friend. You will find one.

The younger guy I spoke with last night was Christopher Swisher. It was kind of funny. There was a sold sign on it and he said the guy was supposed to be by to put a deposit down or pick it up but the sales guy was insistent that I take his card since it "may not be sold"

It saddened me. That was my best chance to get one but I'm probably better off waiting.

I looked online and the price is gone off the web ad for the NSX. It now says call meaning that it is sold but we want you to call so we can sell you a Protege 2003.5 that is missing one of the best components of the car besides the engine, the Kenwood 450W LCD stereo is gone and the dash is still marked where someone jimmied it to steal the radio but the website still states it has it even though it is a Clarion now. That radio is one of the biggest selling points of the car but they still want over 17K for it.

If I were you I would check back in a few days and see if the car is still available. My bet is that you could make a move for it, especially since we are going into the cold time of the year in Indiana. :)

Well, it's still there and for sale. The guy who had gave a deposit backed out. Still asking $24,900.

I really wish I could swing it, I'd buy it if the wife would let me.

I can almost guarantee that they have a lot of room to play on this. Obviously, it depends on how motivated they are to sell it. Do it!!!

Mitch, this would be a snap ring car right? Did the maintenance records show decent maintenance? Did the sales guy know anything about the car? The one I talked to said some lady owned it, maybe William's wife? Did they say if the timing belt had been done?

If, and this is a big IF, I can talk the wife into at least letting me go check it out, I would like to have some leverage and knowledge of the car. I printed out the used NSX checklist in the FAQ.

Her main deal with the car is that it is 13 years old with 90K. Meaning: She has no vision.

Unless you are really ready to buy the car, and have the okay, I would not bother looking at it. Here is why:

1.) You will just frustrate yourself if you love it and cannot buy it.

2.) If you drive it and cannot buy it you will just be depressed.

3.) See #1 and #2. ;)

The sales guy really did not know a whole lot about the car, just a little surface stuff. I told him more about it during the time I was there than he probably wanted to know. We would need the transmission number to know if it is in snap ring range or not, which I did not get. Let me know if I can help at all.

Its too bad you didn't bring your wife to one of our get togethers this year. If she could just see firsthand how clean most of the early coupes are around here I bet you she would change her opinion. Just keep working on it, she'll come around eventually  Good luck
