Well, I was going to update my Video game console. I have a Sega Dreamcast. I was debating between the PS2, and the X-box. I mainly use it for car games.

Soo, what do you guys think of the Forza Vs. GT4. Which one has better graphics, more realistic feedback etc, etc. Originally, I was going to get it for X-mas. However, Sony keeps delaying the launch of GT4 so I guess I have plenty of time.

When I played both back at E3, I definitely gave the edge to GT4 (for both playability and graphics). However, the continued delays (still no official launch date for the U.S.) and the potential loss of online (it had been dropped in order to make this Christmas, but, now that GT4 isn't coming out until next year, it's hard to say whether or not it will ship with online functionality enabled) make it hard to compare these games feature-by-feature.

Certainly Forza has a cleaner look (as many Xbox games do) and it features a few things that GT4 won't (visual damage, body kits, Xbox Live support). I also like the fact that Forza put an NSX on the cover.

But GT4 has so much more depth...more cars, more tracks, photo mode, B-Spec mode

- You felt that GT4 had better graphics  - I would have thought that Forza would defintely have better graphics. I really don't care for the 400+ cars. In fact there are only a hand full of cars I end up driving. Mainly I was trying to find out which is more a racing simulator than a "video game".

- Also since Forza is for on road only(they have a Xbox rally game), I would think it would offer more choices, and flexibility.

- PS2 has more games, but i usually get a few games- go i guess that doesn't matter.

thanks for the info. Btw, who do you work for again?

I would think Xbox will always have better graphics as it is has a better GPU and has anti-aliasing. From what I have seen, the graphics on GT3 are not very good. I cannot see how GT4 can be much better is it is still limited to the hardware on a PS2 which is WAY old.

To me they both look like great games and i will probably end up buying both. One thing to think about is that there are alot of wheels that will be compatible with the ps2 because almost any usb wheel will work. The driving force pro is only available for ps2 so that gives gt4 an edge in my book. I havent seen too many wheels for the xbox and none of them look as nice as my driving force pro. Maybe these things arent an issue with you if youre not going to use a wheel but they sure do make driving games a lot more fun.

I own the gt stearing wheel w/ gt4 prologue and it is a jewl, I know its not eh finished product yet, but the 900deg stearing is just amazing...the cars are amazing and the series just keeps on getting better. I really wish they added online compatibility to gt4 but they did not. I am really tired of lapping my friends around I wish i could race someone with more skill but FORZA has online with Xbox Live, that will make me buy the game.

I have a Sega Dreamcast

Good taste in consoles. I loved mine until it's death ;)

Forza definately. Online play, customize vehicles, better graphics from what i've seen. ;)

I just couldn't see my self buying a playstation at this stage in its cycle. Playstation 3/ xbox 2 are on the horizon, maybe you can wait?

if you are contemplating if to buy a ps2 just for gt4, do it!

GT4 is one of the most amazing games I have ever played. GT3 was great but missed out on some things....gt4 will cover everything and more...

I got Xbox because of HALO and Halo2...in my personal view these games are amazing...

As I said before, I've played both at E3 and, at that time, GT4 was clearly the superior driving game both in look and in playability. The Driving Force Pro is definitely one of the key reasons GT4 plays so well...it's the first wheel that "feels" right. I've been reading articles that make Forza sound like it has come a LONG way since E3, so it may have improved quite a bit since I played it, but GT4 has a legacy of greatness that continues to be refined with each release.

The graphics on Xbox games tend to look cleaner in general than PS2, which definitely has issues with aliasing. The best PS2 games minimize this problem to the point of it almost being a non-issue...and this include GT4. GT4 looks more real...especially the cars (which is where it matters most IMO)...it's all in the lighting.

If you're on the fence between PS2 and Xbox, I always say get the PS2. I rarely play my Xbox, but my PS2 is always getting a good workout.

Looks like GT4 isn't the ONLY game to suffer delays. Today, it was announced that Forza is being delayed until April, 2005. So, unless GT4 gets delayed again, it will actually come out BEFORE Forza.

The Japanese TV commercials are now on the official Japanese GT 4 site...stating the 12/28/04 release. I'm guessing it won't be delayed again in Japan.

Bump - since Forza is out.

Which one is a more realistic track simulator. Does Having Ferrari make the Forza worth buying a Xbox.

One thing to consider, MS is releasing the new xbox system, called xbox 360, in November, Sony is releasing the new PS3 next spring. Both Forza2 and GT5 are rumored as launch titles. These systems are going to be amazing and a big step up from current systems. Wireless controllers, HD output, processor speed, etc.....I think it's worth the wait for the next system and game improvements. GT5-network, Forza-graphics.
