Looks like myNSXjoy beat me to it. That was precisely the car that came to mind - arguably one of the nicest looking NSXs out there regardless of color. And contrary to some of the others here who seem convinced that painting an NSX candy red would hurt resale, I'd bet the proverbial dollar to a donut that he got ALL the money for that car when he sold it, and probably sold it in a relative hearbeat to boot. It was a nice car. The fact that it was candy red just made it a nice candy red car. I doubt he'd have gotten any more money for it if it was an OEM color - even one of the more desirable ones. But then I'm hypothesizing here - I honestly have no idea what he got for it, so I could also be dead wrong. Don't think I am. But I could be.
Hmm. I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not. Well, maybe. No, I'm not. Well sort of. Yeah, guess I am. Ok then.
The reason I hold the opinion I do is not without some basis in fact - my last NSX was Lamborghini Pearl Metallic Yellow, and and it sold in less than two weeks in a struggling economy for $37k - and it was a 91 with 100k miles on it. To be fair it was a pretty highly modified car and was done very well (paint was done really "right", JGTC front end, lots of CF, etc.), but still - that's pretty much all the money for a normally aspirated 91 NSX and it was NOT an OEM color, although it could be argued that it wasn't a huge departure from Rio Yellow, which of course
was an OEM color on later cars.
Here's more shots of the killer candy red one and a few shots of my "old" one too. I think the biggest consideration is that you have it done really RIGHT and make sure you go with the RIGHT candy red - otherwise the other posters will be absolutely 100% correct - if your car looks even remotely like an NSX in 57 Chevy clothing, when it comes time to part with it you'll have to either give it away or just fill it up with dirt and make a flowerpot out of it
Steer clear of the traditional "Candy Apple Red" - that is historically a "hot rod" color. Look instead into House of Kolors Candy Brandywine - I'm reasonably certain that's what color the NSX I've attached pictures of is. Right color done properly with tasteful mods to accompany the new color, I think you could have yourself a killer car.
But then I owned (and loved) a Lambo Yellow one with Lambo doors and a huge wing on it so if you're not cut from the same cloth you might not wanna listen to me LOL
