Fixed Headlights for pre-'02 front end

Anyone know where to get the Backyard Special lights? Im about to pull the trigger on the Downforce 02 conversion and might want to try this first:wink:

Send them an email, written in simple language, and they will usually respond back after a week of so. If that doesn't work SOS might be able to get them for you, or you could try a broker.

I saw your post in another thread, the fitment is crappy. Im going to stick with the Downforce/OEM 02 conversion.

I went to ABSDynamics.com and I could not find the NSX headlamps. Anyone have any clue on where to find them? I would like to see more pictures of that setup.

I lovin' the similarities

I just came across these fixed headlights on YJ auctions, it appears to be a copy of revolution version 2, but molded into the bumper, to eliminate the gap I had with revoultion version 1. It actually looks rather interesting...

I thought you were keeping the Z stock

i think those were the plans with his CTSC 92...the post was in 2007, before mike got the Z.

i think the Revolution ver 1 looks the best...

i wonder what the light output is like with a fixed headlight solution on a pre-'02 bumper.

scorp: can you attest to how the revolution version 1 lights are at night?

They were horrible at night, I cross-referenced the part numbers, and the fixtures themselves were from a VW Rabbit - I put HID in them, and output was acceptable, but I am sure they glared all over the place. Because of their design, some kind of projector retrofit would have dramatically improved the lighting situation, but with HID the lights are at least equal to stock.

I like Revolution version2, the catalog car for Revolution (the black one in the first post) is my favorite nsx, if one of their half bumpers had been available, I would have never done a 2002 conversion.

Here's mine of a fixed headlight with a CompTech front end.

has anyone ever tried to mount the pre-'02 lighting units into a revolution style headlight assembly? i'm know there's a good amount of custom work to be done, but the proportions look about right.

i have no idea, however, the space limitations in the area the headlight assembly would be mounted since i don't have an nsx...just an idea i was thinking about since i do a good amount of custom fabrication...or at least am able to...

scorp, can you link to your old thread with more pictures of the revolution setup? i was browsing through your topics created and couldn't locate it.

thanks a bunch.

This thread is for pre-'02 fixed headlights, not OEM 2002+ fixed headlights.

My NSX is a 1991 with an oem fixed headlight modified to fit on to a CompTech front end.

After doing the translation and what not,the backyard special lights end up going for $4,168.73 USD

For that much money I would rather rock the 2002 conversion. That is the price on their website so you would have to add even more money for whoever to source them.
