sorry about asking for a favor on the first post but......i'm interested in buying an nsx and wondered what you all thought about this one. i have opportunity to buy this one as i won the bid but didnot meet the reserve. He has offered it to me at a good price. i worked for honda for about 15 years but never acura. car fax looks pretty good. i know the drivers seat has some wear and the front bumper is scuffed at the bottom right side alittle. Does anyone see anything else that sticks out

Re: first post need a favor

Well, first of all it's an automatic... If there aren't any compelling reasons to get an automatic, look for a manual, you'll thank yourself later...

The center dash trim piece looks like it is cracked near the ashtray on both top edges. It is definitely bubbling and needs to be refinished.

Spare tire is pretty worn...

10th picture from the top, the exhaust tip doesn't seen to align perfectly, it shift about 1 inch to the left (maybe the angle of the picture)

Re: first post need a favor

first off...i know that it is in brooklyn. It was probubly a daily driver. As far as the automatic.....wife says nsx......automatic....if not.......new automatic accord. I know that it is alittle rought in some areas but i think it needs a good home. I am a retired gold level honda technican with over 15 years dealership experiance and owned my own shop with all the honda tools including 6 lifts and a front end alignment set up with a drive on lift. Doing the work my self and a healthy discount on factory parts will go a long way. Did anyone notice the picture of the windsheild trim in the one picture? i can get this car for 21,000.

The car appears to be in pretty rough cosmetic condition inside and out. The antenna doesn't go all the way down, it has some crappy cheap tires mounted, etc. You obviously know cars pretty well so I'm not going to point out all those types of issues.

It's hard to tell exactly what's going on because it's a black car and the photos are very soft, but a few things do stand out. The most obvious and puzzling is the trunk lid. Why is it popped up as though it were not even latched on the passenger side while being pretty much flush on the drivers side? There is only one latch in the center. There are a few other questionable looking areas but as I said the photos are not very good so it's hard to be sure what is going on.

I'd definitely want an inspection before buying.

I'll attach a third picture just because it kills me that whoever is selling the car is so clueless. That is not where the engine cover prop rod goes. It is very obvious where it goes when you look at the car.

From buying and selling numerous NSX’s I can tell you from experience the most expensive repair I ever made was, replacing an automatic transmission. Over $5K! However, I feel automatics are still fun to drive.

I’m in agreement with the other post’s that it appears cosmetically rough which would lead me to wonder how well it was mechanically maintained. Sounds as though you are mechanically inclined enough to determine how well it runs however, I would strongly suggest a pre-buy by an authorized Acura Dealer.

Automatics are not the most desirable so they can be found at a good price. They pop up now and then be patient and prudent when buying one.

BTW: Welcome to prime, feel free to p/m if you ever have any questions. Best of luck in your purchase.
