After finally getting various paw prints out of the paint, and reattaching the front spoiler, I decided to take a few pictures after washing it. These are the first "whole-car" pictures I have taken while I've owned it

Up close it is far from perfect, but from a few yards away, it doesn't look bad for a 213,000 mile car.

That things got 213k on it??!!

Looks like a nice car still! If you don't mind the question, how much does a high mileage NSX set you back these days?

sweet. Glad they weren't those unoffcial photos everyone is always posting on here.

Well, you know how the paparazzi are these days...

That rather depends. This one set me back a shade over $16k initially (as pretty much everyone knows already who saw the car on ebay ). Now, in the interest of full disclosure it was showing no fewer than 4 different check-engine codes, its transmission is in the snap ring range, the paint (before I spent many hours over a couple of weekends on it) looked like crap, the front bumper cover has issues (apparent if you look inside the radiator opening), and has some other minor issues with it that have yet to be resolved.

So it's just an issue of how mechanically inclined you are. I'm not overly scared of anything short of machine work and wiring, so I took the gamble of picking up a potential basket case offset by living the dream

Congrats.
Glad to know that our cars are still kickin strong after 200K.

Any interior pics?

Maybe after I clean it up a little. At the time I took these, I was leaving my folks house so I had some clothes, groceries, and a storage bin in the passenger seat.

It's not in poor shape, but I plan to go through a touch up a few fingernail scuffs with some leather dye. The bolsters are worn a bit, but I've seen much worse. Most of the plastic is still in good condition.

If you have 213k miles, the snap ring would have failed by now; just because it is in the range, doesn't mean the snap ring will fall into the transmission and cause a failure.

Obvious wear and tear items (interior, leather condition, bolster wear) are normal for a 17 year old car that has traveled this distance; just make sure your timing belt is in good shape, and start to knock through the engine codes. O2 sensors are a common failure after a given level of mileage, you might need to clean out the TB, etc., but these are generally reliable cars.

I've already taken care of all of the engine codes (O2 sensors among them) and it runs (as near as I can tell) like it should.

Allegedly the timing belt was done less than 5k miles ago, I am in the process of verifying that with the dealership where it was serviced. I had that thought about the snap ring, "if it was going to fail, it should have already". I am not worried for the moment since I am not planning on really wringing the car out until I have gone through it and made sure everything else is safe (brakes, suspension, etc.). I would assume that the snap ring would be no exception to being more likely to fail under track conditions since I do plan to hit a few events with the car in the coming years.
