well guys; its been a whopping 7 months since the car first went into the body shop. don't ask me why. 2020 seems to take forever on these project cars. but i guess it was definetly worth the wait. i hope you guys like. i know somethings will be like by some; and others probably won't like it. this is still work in progress.

i will be putting on new/wider (proper offset) volk SF challenge wheels in the next 2 weeks (still on container), a new wing is being built as we speak. i had to borrow a friends taitec for time being; but as you can see; its far TOO narrow to be suitable for the widebody. and the taitec race headlights have been swapped back out with the flip ups (as the fog lights are WAY too glaring on on-coming traffic), etc....

hope you guys like! ;)

Re: FINALLY: Widebody Completed~!!!

Nice. Is that the GTR kit or the GTS kit? Looks like the GTR (wider) version. How was the fitment/quality/installation of the fenders?

Re: FINALLY: Widebody Completed~!!!

Surprisingly, I like the color too. The kit is a bit too much for me, but I am an old guy that believes in "stealth" looking cars. Looks like a very nice job though. Good luck with a nice set of wheels too.

Re: FINALLY: Widebody Completed~!!!

car looks nice. i like the color and the rear end looks great, but the only thing i didnt like was that "lip" that sticks out from the front bumper. but other than that, nice job and cant wait to see the new wheels

Re: FINALLY: Widebody Completed~!!!

Nice!
I dont think the photos do the colour justice! I think in real life it would be much more eye catching.

Also, wheels make a widebody! Once you get the wheels and the wing it'll make a huge difference cos a widebody no matter how nice without the proper wheels just aint right.

Can't wait to see when its 100% .

btw, whats the details of the mods ?

Re: FINALLY: Widebody Completed~!!!

Yes, I'm interestedin knowing what set up you chose. My first guess would be DownForce.Biz. The color is fantastic. And yes, it looks rediculous without proper wheels. Put that thing away until it is finished.

I thought you were going with this color

Anyways, looks good. I've got a few questions though
Why did you leave the pillars black, but paint the roof?
Did they paint over the red in the engine bay and front compartment?
How much did the paint work end up costing, and is that a custom color, or one off of another car?

Thanks.

Re: Black pillars look excelent.

Please list the maker of the kit you use.

Thanks

Re: FINALLY: Widebody Completed~!!!

Very nice indeed. That is what JGTC is. So what type of rear spoiler are you going to use? Also what size of wheels are you going to use? IMHO having 17/18 wheels are the best sizes because the tires won't be to thin in profile. I have 18/19 and doesn't look JGTC thick and I don't want to mess up the TCS by having thicker profile. I think JGTC wheels are all 18's with 280/40/18 front and 330/40/18 rear.

yes, this is the GTR kit. overall i'd have to say the fitment was great. very very minor work was needed to get the kit to fit like a glove; but compared to some of the other HIGH dollar japanese kits i've seen, i can't complain... i am very happy with the kit and would recommend it to anyone looking into it...

yes, the body kit is from downforce. i was hoping my best to try to replicate the JGTC look. even down to the headlights; and towhook. we're having minor problems with the headlights; so i swapped back to the flip ups for now. i hope to get the taitec headlights back on in no time!

the final setup looks like this:

EXTERIOR:
> Downforce - front, rear, sides, fenders, wing, hood, diffuser
> I'impact - CF b-pillar
> Taitec - headlights w/Raybrig HIDs
> Cantrell - CF fuel door
> Dali - towhook
> Acura - 02 Tailights
> 2020 Autobody Tech - custom Lambo Orange paint

INTERIOR:
> Sparco - steering wheel w/Type R horn
> Honda - Type R shift boot
> Razo - pedals and knobs
> CF interior trim pieces
> Science of Speed - custom fiberglass center dash piece (for new headunit)
> Panasonic - Flip screen dvd unit
> BRIDE Zetta III (red) w/ Takata (not yet installed)
> Stacks gauge cluster w/ CF bezel (not yet installed)

WHEELS/SUSPENSION:
> Tein Flex w/ EDFC unit
> Volk Racing SF Challenge (18x8, 19x10.5) - gunmetal with polish lip
> Comptech - strut bar

ENGINE/PERFORMANCE:
> Taitec Center exit JGTC exhaust

1) yes, i was going to paint it this murcielago 40th anniversary color. unfortunately PPg won't release this paint without proof of ownership on one of these very limited cars. all lambo paint comes pre-fixed by the factory; and they want to regulate the release of this color. i wanted to paint it this specific teal. (cuz teal; if done wrong can look horrible....)

2) the lambo orange was my 2nd choice of color. lambo paint is not done justice in photos. they are so much nicer in person. you will see subtle shifts in colors. for example: in the orange; you will see orange with a subtle gold shift in pearls

3) i left the pillars unpainted to keep a center dark portion in the cockpit. i purchased the CF b-pillars and figured i'd keep the theme consistent by making it black across the middle. something slightly differnt from what i've seen on prime so far. either people seem to leave the top half ALL black, or leave it ALL one color....tried something new...

4) the engine bay was shot with semi-gloss black (to keep it dark), and the frontal compartment was shot orange to match the body. there are no traces of the red anywhere left on this car. it cost extra, but well worth the details...

5) don't ASK me on the price... hahaha..... lets just say im HAPPY to have my car back!

Re: FINALLY: Widebody Completed~!!!

I saw your car Wed on the Colima Rd. Car looks very exotic and color is beautiful. Don't drive so fast next time so we can all see the car closer :)

Re: FINALLY: Widebody Completed~!!!

Color is OK. I imagine it does look better in person.
I don't care much for the kit though. :( Not really a fan of WB.
But it doesn't matter cause it is your car!! :D
Hope you enjoy the new look.
