F1 2008 Megathread

Re: Speed pundits on the take?

Three if not all 4 have said it several times in different ways, that Glock did not pull over, which is partially proven by Trulli doing identical lap times on dry tires.

Bear in mind that Trulli was TOTALLY unmotivated as he was sure to finish 8th so he has just cruised till the end of the race...while Glock could still get those 2 points if he was just a tiny bit faster in last 5-6 laps.

How can you say any F1 driver is unmotivated? They are among the elite competitive drivers in the world. In that job it's perform or lose your seat. Each position means big cash to the team and the driver.

Trulli was motivated, so was Glock. Hamilton passed a slower car in the wet on the wrong tires. Just take your NSX out on a track with slicks on it in the rain and see how fast you are. Trust me, civics with rain tires will pass you.

Re: Driver motivation

civics with rain tires will pass you

+1.

And the way I heard it, it was not the last 5-6 laps, it was the last 1-2 laps. Unless he personally told you different, it's logical to conclude that Trulli's appropriate motivation was simply not to wad the car up and be the laughing stock  of the F-1 world for causing the race to end behnid the SC.
