Is this for real.....? I guess even adding the body panels back should add no more than a couple of hundred pounds.

That's a light NSX. Yes, you've gone too far!

It is a joke, don't worry!

The car's shell is going to be strategically strengthened/lightened before it gets it's new carbon fibre body work and a rebuilt engine put in

Final weight aim is a more realistic 1100kg/2420lbs.

You are WAY OVERESTIMATING the weight of the bodypanels on the NSX !!
The quarter panels weight only a few pounds each. Even the empty door shells are very light. Hood and trunk also very light.

Heaviest body parts to add would be the bumpers and the rear hatch and, if you do it, all the interior door stuff.

Good start. However, still looks like a lot of stuff remaining left to go (locks, struts, dash bar, cabin vents, glass, etc....). Looks like John Stage 2.

It does appear you are missing a few things.... Bumpers, Lights, Doors, fenders, trunk, hood, underbody, hatch, wing, splitter, engine, powertrain (always helpful), cooling, wiper, electronics, fluids, gas...... all adds back up....

the real problem is the weight of the engine! It is wayyy tooo heavy! I wish honda made a 6 cylinder I-VTEC style engine like the k-series. It would be a lot lighter and compact. The motors are slightly larger then the D- series engine! That says a lot about the advancement of the Honda engines. But if u can get it comfortably in the mid 2400's then thats awesome! Keep up the good work!

A bit, yes. I'd still classify that as streetable though, whereas ours will never see the road again! Basically we want it to be the quickest NSX this side of a JGTC/Super GT car. That's the plan anyway!
