My warranty will be out in about a year, and my local Honda/Acura dealer does not offer extended warranty. So my question is:

Can I purchase an extended warranty program from another Honda or Acura dealer and have it warranteed here?

*side note...I was in the Toyota dealership last week checking on a car for a friend, and found out that I/they can purchase an extended warranty(bumper to bumper) before the factory warranty expires, and have warranty for another 6-8 years.

Wouldn't it be great to have warranty for that long!

Anyways, TIA for any help.

Your car came with an eleven-year warranty?

Sorry, I assmumed by your statement that you "had a year left on your warranty" that you meant remaining factory warranty.....No factory Acura dealer can offer the Acura extended warranties on a vehicle of that age.
Aftermarket is all you can hope for. Urban Pilot left you a name and phone number for one such firm.

I do have 1 year left on my factory warranty. My car was sold NEW to me in 2000. I guess I need to call some dealers then. Thanks.

Yes Ken, my car didn't sell for 8 years. Probably because most everyone can't justify spending 60k+ on a 2 door sports coupe that coudn't carry the groceries(don't tell me you use your car to the grocery store?)

Ken, that is funny that you never went to Richard's web site and saw that he just bought new 1991 NSX recently.
Where did you buy your car Richard?
I remember my first time sitting in a RED NSX at the Columbus, Ohio dealership in 1992, I bought an integra GS coupe at that time.
I wish I bought the car at that time (the NSX price is very CHEAP based on my foreign currency at that time - How cheap? it is the same as the price of a base Honda Civic nowadays), but the insurance was too expensive for an 18 year old single guy

I paid $3000/year for the GS
I was quoted $5000/year for the GSR
NSX would be way too expensive.

insx,

I bought the car here from the local Honda/Acura dealer.

Those insurance prices are outrageous! but I guess that's the price you'd have to pay for driving a sports car at such a young age.

btw insx, what are your impressions of the GM exhaust and intake?

Hi,
I love the GruppeM exhaust and intake. They give me a reason to drive my NSX around the block or just for a quick drive passing into a tunnel everyday. The sound is just amazing.
The interior sound from the exhaust and intake is awesome. The sound is well tuned unique Exotic Sound - no gargling at all.
