experts : what's this means?? Picture...

Completely normal. Every NSX is said to have this sooner or later. No reason to worry the function of the crank position sensor is not in danger.

I just cleaned up the mess on my engine front that looked just like this. I think it is the "POTTING" around the cam sprocket interrupter that didn't stand up to the heat of the engine and melted. Spray brake parts cleaner works real good to remove the residue.

I re-filled mine with windshield urethane

um yea its time to replace your cam seals and plugs......

I don't think this have anything to do with cam seals or plugs. The cam seals are on the other side of the engine. This is from crank position sensor getting hot.

there is cam plugs on the other side of the engine yes, and there are seals that go around the cams right behind the cam gears... I just had mine replaced. But I didn't know there was any sensors there... interesting.

The resulting goop in the pic does not relate to cam seals or plugs. As mentioned it is the potting material for the cam position sensor assembly.

Be not afraid...melted potting material happens.

100% agreement with those who said its the potting compound, and is harmless. I did the timing belt on my '96 in 2007, as well teamed up with a Prime member to do the belt on his '91 later that year. My '96 (47kmi) was clean, but the '91 had the "drooling goo" with kind of a burnt smell to it. Because the position sensor was functioning well and showed no signs of exposed or damaged components, we left it in place.

Two years have passed and no reported problems.
