We wanted to give an update on these dash panels as we have made some changes.
Double DIN panel with Glare reduction (ashtray delete):
1) For our Double DIN panels with glare reduction (ashtray) delete, nothing has changed and we will be taking and filling these orders on a per order basis. The glare reduction panels allow the Double DIN to be mounted at a reduced angle to make it more visible in daylight. The stock dash angle is too extreme for anything to be visible until night time. We remove the ashtray assembly to allow room for the radio to bar tilted downwards. This dash panel is available in both carbon fiber or FRP ready to paint versions. The radio does need to be relocated to accommodate the new mounting angle and we recommend a 6.5" fixed face radio for this application.

2) Many of you have requested we build dash panel that retains the ashtray and we have tried to accommodate. However the complex OEM ashtray assembly makes this dash panel very difficult to create from scratch. We have tried nearly a dozen molds now and have decided the best course of action is to discontinue this model sadly. The dash panel is pretty straight forward, however the hole for the ashtray is very difficult to make and work smoothly. We have decided to discontinue this option but we will offer another solution.
We have a small supply of OEM dash panels sitting here and will have our team modify each one carefully to accept a DD head unit using our unique design to taper there top slightly to give some glare reduction. It will not be as effective as our ashtray delete model but should help a little bit to reduce glare. Our team will also add some strength to the weak points of the stock panel and offer this as a 1:1 core exchange. Basically these are OEM stock dash panels that we modify ahead of time to accommodate a double din radio. The advantage is the panel comes to you ready for paint and installation. The only downfall is that means you need to give up your stock dash panel as part of the core exchange. If you want to buy one outright, the cost of the stock dash panel will be added to your final cost.
In the past for our local NSX clients, they come to our shop with their stock dash panels and we do the custom re-work. We will modify each one for a Double DIN, sand, re-finishi, paint and re-install in the car with their choice of audio system.
The cost for our 1:1 core exchange program is $599 + stock dash panel to be returned upon receiving our modified panel. We will charge a deposit similar to our steering wheels.
What you get is a finished OEM dash panel that will accept your stock ashtray assembly and comes ready for paint.
