EPS Functionality

EPS question here.
I would like to adapt a '97 EPS system to a non NSX project car I am developing.
Will the power steering function without inputs from the VSS (pin 15) and the pulse unit (pin 5) on the inputs of the EPS ECU?

Read at length about the pro's and cons of power steering on the NSX. Non issue for me. All I need is the technical information so I can get the unit to work in my application.

I could fab up wheel speed sensors ( trigger wheels and NSX sensors) to simulate road speed, but I heard that they may not be needed to get the unit to function.

Any experts out there familiar enough with the system to give some install advice?

dont know if this will help you or not, but when i converted my automatic nsx to a 5-sp, and put a 5sp ECU, and 5sp traction control ECU in, the EPS no longer worked,a dn they EPS light would stay on. (i'm pretty sure its because of lack of sensor from the 5sp tranny)

how much did it cost to change from an automatic to 5-speed?
