Engine Swap!!

I have searched this question and posted it in the wrong thread with no answer. I know you can swap the 5 speed and 6 speed trannies but can you swap a 3.2 in a 91-96 model? If so does it bolt right up to the existing engine mounts? I would assume the CPU would need to be changed as well?

Yes,
You can use a 3.2 in a early NA1 chassis, you will have to use you NA1 intake manifold,TB, wiring harness, ECU, complete exhaust system....Hope this helps

Not a whole lot, BUT if your motor is toast, and you find a connection/deal/low mile on a 3.2, why not toss it in.

You will gain 20HP and a little more torque, plus the 3.2 has slight larger main bearings and a bit stiffer bottom end. If you do need to change not a bad up-grade and you can drag along the 6 speed trans. for added fun.

would it not be cheaper to just FI it, for all that labor and the 3.2 (aren't they still costing a bit over the c30a?

The 95-96 ecu will accept a 3-3.2 swap both are throttle by wire.You will need to deal with the air pump system used on the newer 3.2 motors.I have heard of 3.2's going into 91-94 cars you just need to deal with the ecu throttle issues.Mounts are all the same.

Plus with the 3.2 the cylinder walls would not need to be sleeved for FI.
