I plan on the old " centering the engine mounts" routine to see if I can reduce some idle vibration. Where are the exact locations of the mounts. I've referred to the manual and have a general idea from the schematics, but more specific reference points on a real-live car would be more helpful.

yes on "loosen the transmission mounting bolt" too. There are only two so called motor mounts on the NSX...1. the "Body Support Bracket" center bolt and 2, the "Transmission Mounting" center bolt.

fyi...check the hard rubber parts of these two engine/transmission mounting parts for cracking and deterioration as this may be the cause of your vibration.

Page 69 of the 1991 NSX Service Manual has a good photo.

The NSX has 4 mounting points for the engine/transmission. One on the top of the transmission one by the alternator, one in front of the engine and one at the rear of the engine. When I re-centered mine I just loosened the front and rear mounts.

I was not clear enough and I agree that there are four locations that are used to affix the engine to the body. I, however, would try the ones on the top of the engine first.

In my opinion, the four bolts (in two locations at the bottom of the engine) that affix the engine to the rear beam side bracket have the weight of the engine upon them and due to their location at the bottom of the engine will have little impact on vibration.

The bolts I speak of are the ones that go through the rubber of the mount and not the mounting bolts to the engine block.
