engine compartment fan

Where do you mount the remote oil filter?

I haven't yet. I am thinking of somewhere on the aft bulkhead of the engine bay, on the passenger side.

When I had the CTSC, that is where the fuel pressure regulator was mounted, somewhat up high. With the BBSC, that area will be not used. I'm thinking of mounting it as low as possible so it will still be accessible from below.

It will change direction but may not be efficient unless specifically designed to blow either direction. Fan blades like propellers are often intended to work in just one direction although others are designed to be nearly as good in reverse. You may be able to remove the blade and mount it the other way.

Upon first glance each blade of the fan is straight; however, looking closer there is an ever so slight curvature of the blades. Indeed, sjs is correct on the delta of efficiency. IMHO, I don't think it will make much difference. Reversing the fan's mount on the shaft will not work. The center hub is axially offset.

I am installing into my '98. We unplugged the two fans in the front of the car, and the temperature went up enough for the fan to come on. The car never got hot to the point of overheating, it seems to do the job. It is very light weight in design, with minimum welding on the shroud as further proof.

I am installing it because I think that I need it. Here in NY, engine hours are important, and while I try to avoid 99.9% of the pitfalls of driving in NYC, twice in the past 2.5 years I got stuck in a traffic jam so bad that I could sense I clutch going 2%.

I may supercharge in the future, I may move to a warmer climate, and until then it can't hurt. It looks good, too. My '94 had it, and I couldn't look into the engine bay without seeing a big ugly hole.

And besides, it's cool;-)

Saw mine run one time, I blew a hole in the lower radiator hose at the drag strip and low and behold the little fan came on.

You may want to check with your supercharger vendor as they may require you to remove it during the install.
