EGT sensor placement

I am currently installing a HKS CAMP system in my NSX and am having a delima over where the EGT sensor should go. I have TAITEC headers as well as the TAITEC bypass pipes with the bung ports already welded in for the EGT sensor. However, my installer is telling me that the sensor needs to be placed directly off of cylinder head #1. Which is correct?

My worry stems from the fact that he will be drilling into my $$$$ TAITEC headers for no real world gains. PLUS, the cat bypass pipes are already equiped with this in mind.

I always try to stay within "the width of the exhaust port" from the exhaust port, as a general rule of thumb, and place it in a cylinder that has a cylinder on each side.
