Ebay LED tails installed...

Try my lighter taillight overlay. I think by toning it down a tad would help :).

B@t

I was thinking the same thing. The christmas light LEDs (like on the GTR, etc.) just don't look good. You can't do much when they are lit up, but at least you can hide them when not.

I wonder why no one has embarked on a fully custom setup wherein all the red is replaced with carbon fiber, with only long LED strips used for the lights (or circular LED panels are used).

Kind of like this:

How does it impact your career?

If you are talking about points on your driving record, I believe most states just issue a "fix-it" citation. You just bring the car in to have a ref see that you put the plate holder on, and pay a nominal fine. Then you go home and take it off. :) You can also just pay a larger, but also nominal, fine and not do anything.

I don't think it goes down on your record as a point or anything.

I'm not going into details, but I need to document and explain any interaction, warning, or even a late payment for my clearances and polygraphs. Multiple equipment violations on the same thing demonstrates an inability to accept and follow the law and can be grounds to lose my level of clearance and termination.

You live your life and I'll live mine, with a front tag. :)

VrooM did just that in the first iteration of his build, which I think is for sale (the tail lights, not the car). I believe the lights were sourced from a Chevy Cobalt.

I considered those LED tails for the fact that the reverse light lens is the most transparent. I have the darkest limo tint on the back of my NSX and there are times when I could use a little more light back there.

The concern I have is what do you do when the LED bulbs burn out?

I dont have an nsx but I used to live out in Fairfax, VA and I would get pulled over in my rsx type s for no front plate all the freakin time:mad: Cops out there are brutal and the fines are crazy. Here in Illinois suburbs cops dont really care, maybe in the city they do though. I know for some guys not having a front plate is a huge deal and refuse to do it no matter what, specially if there are no holes in the bumper. I know was like that, I would never drill holes in a bumper that didnt have them. It does get expensive after a while though.

I spent close to $400 last year on no front tag tickets. I now have a front plate.

I'm using the factory bracket right now that looks like poop. Getting the SOS stealth bracket for xmas.

Assuming the LEDs are fairly good quality, they should last somewhere around 100,000 hours of use. So theoretically they should outlast the car. But sometimes you can get a defective LED, which is a risk.

oh definitely. I didn't mean to imply you should take it off. I was just asking out of genuine curiosity.

But now you sound like a CIA agent or something.

LEDs huh? Might as well go all the way and create the TroNSX. Can't let the Italians have all the fun.

Kudos for trying something new but definitely a NO WAY for myself :)

VA is a tough state - when I was driving through your state I had to put my V1 in my trunk to avoid any issues, sheesh! haha

Certain careers require what HIJACKER is stating so I can relate. My brother works for Public Gas/Energy company and they can't even jay-walk, if caught they would get fired, no BS!

Cops in VA really need to find something better to do with their time than harass citizens.

I have heard it openly admitted by law enforcement that the "no front plate" law is nothing more than a "tool" used to investigate and "uncover" other violations (warrants, drugs, DWI, etc...).

In lay-man terms: Just an excuse to pull one over when there is no other legitimate reason to do so.

i absolutely love the look...especially the full usage of the 'devil horns'....remember, everyone has opinions, but its YOUR car...do whatever the f YOU want to it....
