Ebay LED tails installed...

Got a good deal on these tail lights from a fellow prime member. Quality looks nice in person. Fitment is also good. I think it updates the look of the car without being outrageous. A lot of people on prime seem to despise them, but I figured I would post some pics for those interested. I know, I know... flame suit on :tongue:

I would just do an O2 update. Something about these tail lights kind of look like they came from pep boys.

What if you were too pull the lenses off the LED ones and replace them with your oem tail lenses so it doesn't give them such a transparent look.

I agree. Or try those tranparent film or paint in red to make it darker. Thats what I suggested to another prime member.

The idea is AWESOME, but those bulbs are MEGA JUMBO Big .. I mean, belong to a Las Vegas Sign or something ... OR, MAYBE, MAYBE this doesn't photograph well ... maybe we need better photos ....

I would go back to the stockers and put the 02+ center taillight in. you get the elegance of the old tails with the updated acura emblem. imo looks very nice

Lol! Sorry I only have my cell phone camera at the moment. It is hard to get a good shot of these. Here are a few shots with the LEDs on. I don't have the other side hooked up because I accidently threw away my other wiring harness when I moved. I was not using it with my last set of LED tails, so it got lost. I will have to just make a new one, no biggy.

I will take some better shots when I hook both sides up.

Sorry, I don't like them at all. They just look cheap and the NSX is such a quality car, that I feel cheap parts are a complete disgrace to it.

Ha, I got pulled the other day for that same issue, and told him there was no bracket made for a front license plate on this car. I told him there's not even holes in the front bumper, and there is no way I'm drilling into it. He let it go.


As far as the matter pertaining to the lights, I would have just waited it out and sent my originals off to clearcorners.com (or whomever does it) to achieve the same look. :redface:

There is a bracket. It's a mandatory dealer option for states that require it. If you purchased the car used from a state that does not have it and brought it into VA, technically - you would need to buy it.

I absolutely HATE having a front tag, I also hate that I can only do 50% tint on my side windows and 35% on the rear. But, I live in VA - and that's the law.

The tail lights do not look bad, and I do applaud you for trying something different. There really are not many choices available for our small niche market. I think if you can open the tail lights and add semi-clear plastic pieces (ceiling light coverings) into the reverse lights so it doesn't look as though it is completely clear, then perhaps it would not look as "aftermarket". Replacing the outer plastic pieces w/the OEM units can work as well, but now the costs/labor and loss of a pair of tail lights is achieved. I really hope you got these at an incredible price. Looking forward to some additional pictures.

It's a "law" in most states...whats your point? It's the most tacky thing you could do to this car, esp. a 02-05.

Tacky is true, but I don't have the luxury of selecting which laws to follow, as it impacts my career.

How does it impact your career?

If you are talking about points on your driving record, I believe most states just issue a "fix-it" citation. You just bring the car in to have a ref see that you put the plate holder on, and pay a nominal fine. Then you go home and take it off. You can also just pay a larger, but also nominal, fine and not do anything.

I don't think it goes down on your record as a point or anything.
