For NSXPO, I looked around at different options for mounting a camcorder in the car but did not have enough time to order one of those suction cup mounts. This was strictly for the group drive (eg. poker rally), and not for on-track usage which would require a mount on the harness bar or something. What I ended up doing which worked remarkably well was to open a tripod at half height with the front leg against the glove box and then moving the seat forward until the tripod was held firmly in place. I then put on the camcorder, and got some great footage from inside the car! It was a real hack, but it worked well and I just wanted to share the tip. I'll post a picture of the setup later.

I also do the wedging of a tripod in the passenger seat area. The angle is perfect. If you have a passenger, well, make them the move-on-voice-command mount. ;)
