Pardoned.
The Stradale is the newest version of the Ferrari 360 Modena.
Full name is the Challenge Stradale. Faster than the old(er) Challenge, but street legal.
Jason-
A little more detail:
It's about 200lbs lighter than the 360... more titanium and carbon fiber used; less sound deadening materials.
The engine is the same but the compression is up and it's more free breathing, so the Hp is up from 395 to 425.
The interior is more 'hard core'... less leather, push button starter... just feels like more of a race car.
There is no auto mode for the F1 transmission; instead of regular or sport, its sport or race; the F1 transmission shifts much faster than the regular 360.
The suspension is like 20% tighter and the car is lower.
The ground effects of the car are totally redone based on 360 Challenge and 360 GT research in racing; to me, this is the most exciting part of the car: it allegedly should have a skidpad between 1.1 and 1.2gs. That would put it far above and beyond ANY road car with road tires and I love handling and pulling g's even more than acceleration.
It has wider tires (which also helps the handling, even though a certain person on this board thinks it doesn't, or at least wider tires wouldn't help an NSX), and 19" wheels. The tires are also a custom Pirelli P-zero.
It comes stock with carbon-ceramic brakes that allegedly don't fade at all. I'm actually scared about this, though... I've heard the carbon-ceramic brakes on the Porsche GT2 & GT3 wear out FAST (and I mean both the pads AND the rotors) and are uber-expensive to replace... so the upkeep costs here are scary for someone like me who MUST drive the car hard.
Lastly, with the Euro-spec car you can get Lexan door glass and a full roll cage, but alas, these aren't DOT approved, so denied here in the states we are.
That's it off the top of my head.
In a nutshell, it's a Ferrari 360 Type R... a street car that's so close to a race car except that it's still somehow street legal. And, for me, that's exactly what I want: a single purposed Ferrari... no compromises.
