LED DRLs will go the way of clear tail lights and other auto fashion fads that die over time. They don't modernize a car; they date it. A few years from now, you'll look at a picture of an NSX with LED DRLs and think, "Oh yeah, I liked that look in 2008."

Another no here. After seeing them the first year out, it was cool. Now that everyone has joined the bandwagon, it's time for the trend to die.

No, get whatever newest Rick has, and you are good!

Thanks Oscar, our DRL systems are the highest quality out there ~ I really want to put a set of our LEVEL 2 lights on your NSX since your car is such a high profile car, let's talk, PM me :)

Rick has nice stuff but as I said if it isn't built in I won't like it. I think the style will change with time... these are OK now but they may look dated soon so I am probably better off without it. Besides the vote count is 80/20 I trust the guys on this board for the most part so I will just take the majority advice and go without.

Turbo, I would do whatever YOU like! IF we all mod cars the same way it would be boring for sure. In your two pictures I vote for your 2nd picture. It looks clean and very custom. Just make sure the LED's are impact resistant because you are sure to encounter some rocks.

Don't forget the PRIME community and car forums in general represent a very small population. I bet 9/10 people would like the LED DRL's if you had them on the car. Whichever DRL system you chose, I'm sure it would look better than without one. This is my 2 cents. I have yet to come across anyone who disliked our LED DRL system in person.

aftermarket DRL = ghetto style...reminds me of the 80s when everyone started swapping their windshield wiper from single to dual LOL....

you have a beautiful car as is now...please don't add things like the giant wing on the back. the car should look exotic and expensive...NOT some cheap Japanese fast and furious LOL.

Cool stuff Mike. Please remember don't sell my wheels to anyone else before you ask me first if you decide to. I've had mixed emotions about that sale. LOL.

What giant wing? Are you talking about the "gurney" lip?

I'm referring to these giant wing. It is such a distraction. As much as I love the R8, that giant wing ruin it for me.

just my opinion.

LOL well that R8 is a race car. They do help on the track but you won't see one on my car until I'm about 6 levels up as a driver.

If you can get DRLs to integrate like the new Porsche Boxster (smooth clean bar, no individual LEDs), I'd be in for it. Otherwise the individual ones in the first post look horrible.

Hey Dave, check out what Audi has come up with, particularly the last 10 seconds where the running light changes color and blinks as a turn signal:

http://youtu.be/TzxfYEuSSEI

So how will sticking Christmas lights on an NSX make it look more modern?

thank you for sharing the video, very cool stuff!

This is definitely state of the art technology and glad to see Audi being a leader as they have been in the past. However this type of technology and high tech wizardry will not be practical or available in the aftermarket especially for the NSX ever. You are talking about a full integrated headlamp with fiber optics and god knows what else they got in there. Lighting is an ever changing technology this I will agree with you. If you walked CES this past year, Philips had some things that people never dreamed of 5 years ago. The automotive industry is catching up and it's cool to see these things but totally impractical in the aftermarket sense.

I actually love the Tommy Kaira DRLs. Sorry but most of the bolt on ones IMO look like...well... bolt ons... even the higher quality ones like s4play makes. At least they produce real output and look nice..still look bolt on but um.... fog lights anyone? Those hung around for a long long time. And "wannabe Audi?" I snicker at that statement... especially since BMW hatched the idea like 14 years ago. Now just about every major car dealer in the US has a showroom of vehicles with factory LED DRLs. Not sure anything looks hotter than the new Grand Cherokees. ;)

Anyway, DRLS need to be integrated.. whether in the lip spoiler, headlights, whatever...just not screwed on. To think they are JUST a trend is to ignore where they came from. Lets review.. DRLs were unavoidable OEM in places like Canada where they became mandatory for safety purposes. Then slowly trickled into the US.... probably already mandatory in other parts of the world too...where BMW got smart and started to integrate them in an aesthetically fashionable sense. Only then did they start to become a fashion trend (still with safety roots) on the eBay front as the lovely and every ones favorite "Angel Eyes!!!". Just as they faded away due to very poor quality, Audi brought DRL love back to life in the 2008 SuperBowl ad. From there, it was game on between Audi and BMW until two years ago, they became pretty much a staple.

So um... if you get them, just make sure they are high quality like s4play makes or get the Tommy Kaira one. If I could afford it, I'd get it with you.

thanks Teej :)

^Blue Batmobile: Your car is one of the sexiest on here and in my top 5 favorites! :)

here's a few of my favorites from our clients, keep in mind we do offer an integrated solution for the NA1 guys:

I doubt that is a photoshop. Mike does things like that. It doesn't look like the TK spoiler but some sort of similar thing. probably custom made. Mike where are you...

Keep it clean like the rest of your NSX Dave, no DRL's

If you want DRL's the for the 02's you have several options including work by S4Play and his team

regards, Paul

This this this....that's the TK.... looks great

Yes it is TK's Lip and Mike's car, no disrespect intended to either parties, I was just experimenting with a different look I may try -the DRL's.
