Driver side windshield wiper

Has anyone replaced their windshield wiper arm? I can't figure out how to get it off?

i'm assuming it's just like any other car.... splined/tapered....
you didn't have to tap it directly with a hammer?

No, just more significant 'tugging and pulling' than I expected. I should have suspected after 14 years it would have been on pretty tight.

I need to take mine off soon to repaint it. Is it just a straight hard pull, or do you need to do anything else?
