My early spring project is done. Weather finally got good enough to take the top off and take a photo. Only bad thing is now...I found out that my air conditioning only works on high. I barely use it, so I'm not sure I'll mess with fixing that...unless that is easy and cheap. 99% of the time the top is off.

I'm looking to do the same thing with mine. Did you document the install? What unit did you install? What other parts were required? Thanks.

I dont know what kinda shift boot is that but wow

you must like YELLOW alot.

Why isn't it flush with the console? Yellow ring makes it looks like it's bulging out more

Gotta be honest... not feelin the yellow trim ring, shifter and boot whatsoever.

Greetings Tad'sNSX,
Nice work! The yellow is very yellowish (definitely custom.) It takes a brave person to finish anything in yellow. I just purchased a double din Pioneer AVH-4300DVD. But I am debating whether to trim the OEM console ($600-$700 ) or trim an aftermarket console ($150). BTW, what tool did you use to trim the console?

Navyflydoc I just got the same radio getting it installed along with jlaudio speakers, tweeter, custom 8" sub and 4 channel amp, my installer is usin a dremal to cut my oem console. I'm so excited will post pics on Wednesday when it's done.

The shift knob is Momo. The yellow trim ring is just the OEM flat trim piece that came with the Kenwood 7140. Yes, I just cut the OEM console with a rotozip/drimmel. Same with the trim ring, had to get the correct shape and then just sanded to finish.

With a yellow car like this, you can't be afraid of a few yellow pieces inside ;). I thought about trying to do the carbon fiber wraps that have yellow highlights just so there wasn't so much yellow, but it was easier finding the yellow paint.

Sounds like your climate control unit needs to be serviced. Contact BrianK for a fix.
