Does a golf bag fit? Pictorial proof, please. :)

I saw the trunk of racer1's NSX over the weekend. It is smaller than, and differently configured from our Gen 1's trunk. Jay Leno's review of the NSX indicates that Honda designed the trunk to fit one golf bag. I don't see it, though I didn't search the trunk that thoroughly.

So I'm asking a generous new owner to fit a golf bag, with pictorial proof of the result.

I can do a Sam's Club run and groceries in my Gen 1. I could do the grocery run OR the Sam's Club run in the new NSX, but not both. I guess that'd give me more excuses to drive the car, if I decided to procure one.

The trunk is way wider than the opening-- it extends on the right an left to the body panels. I suspect a lightweight golf bag could fit, but i don't think it would hold a typical bag full of gear with kick stand. Since it DEFINITELY won't hold TWO bags, I suspect the best bet is to get a a cloth bag to put your golf bag in before loading into passenger seat....

cart bag likely wont fit.

carrying bag will. you might have to first remove your driver.

Agree.

I imagine most folks that can afford a six figure sports car probably have one or two other more practical vehicles that can do stuff like carry golf clubs or a load of groceries. Porsche has been under the same belief for years. Matter of fact, now they even offer a couple of practical vehicles in addition to their sports cars. Just like Acura already does.

the country club set usually stores clubs at the club....but there are times when you absolutely want to drive your fancy car to another course, to play with friends ect.....

I have a Porsche Cayman S and it fits two stand bags in the hatch. My LFA can only fit one in the passenger seat. Would be a big plus if the NSX could slide a stand bag in the trunk. When I go to check one out I will be bringing my bag to try and see if it fits.

What I think is just a little bit hilarious is that there is in fact a golf bag in the "NSX Collection" available at dealers and direct online for $400...but it won't actually fit in the car.

Golf Clubs 1000% fit, this was taught to us at Specialist training in Ohio. The designers made the trunk specifically to accommodate this request. Acura said they did tons of market research and this request came up alot.

I was there too. Have you actually done it though?

Narrow stand bag, yes. Definitely won't fit a cart bag. Anything in between is iffy.

Cant say I have. I also never golfed before so I wouldn't be able to differentiate between the bags either.

Still awaiting pictorial proof.

"taught" but not proven. ;)

Still looking for pictorial proof. :)

Why do so many people care about the sport of Golf? LOL j/k

What about a triple ball bowling bag?

Live near the 18th hole of a golf course growing up and never golfed more than a few times.....different strokes I guess :)

I don't play golf. Only reason I'm interested is that when you look at the configuration of the trunk, you have to think, "how is that possible"? So I'm just curious. NSX 1.0/1.5's trunk is much better configured in that way.

it can hold a tuning fork............

The trunk on the new one is the full width of the car.
It's much longer than it looks in pics and longer than the original.

The trunk box is wider than the old car. But the opening isn't. And the floor is far from being flat. If it were my car, I wouldn't risk clunking a club head against the fender trying to shoehorn a loaded bag in that trunk.

Still waiting for one to show up at my local dealer. Will attempt to put one or possibly two in the trunk. Definetly a deal maker or breaker for me. Golf is an addiction!! Front seat loading sucks.

When I was at the LFA driver development in Sonoma, one of the guys with a car on order (dealer from Philly) was like, I wish the LFA had room for my golf bag, and he wasn't kidding,

Well. That means I can drive it to work. I just need enough room for that and my Queen's Square (i.e. big) reflex hammer.

I'd just stuff a piece of 2" foam rubber at the club end of the bag and it would be fine.
I may have to dig out my golf bag, put it in the car, and take a pic to see how it fits.
