Do you use stabilizer during storage?

I use fuel stabilizer in all my machines when they get put away for the winter, however my NSX will be stored in a heated garage with minimal temp. change. I’ve never had a problem with stabilizer, but I know a friend who has (it could have been something else). Just curious on your experiences…..
 
I've used it on all my motorcycles.....I haven't had a problem... :smile:
 
I don't use it during the 4-6 months I store my car, and haven't had any problems. I don't think it's a bad idea, though.
 
I use it. I've never NOT put it in the NSX so I can't comment on what would happen if I didn't. However, in my 2-stroke lawnmower, if I don't put it in before storage, it simply WILL NOT start in the spring until I siphon out all the gas and replace it.
 
Thanks for the info guys. I decided to use it. I don't think I would have a problem being it's in a heated garage and the fuel is topped off....but hey, better safe then sorry.

I have been putting it in all my cars when they get stored for the winter and feel pretty good about the safety it adds. The cars seem happy about it as well. :wink:

My local lawn mower service/repair folks tell me to run the mower dry at the end of the fall, so that's what I do. No fuel, no stabilizer. And, of course, the same thing for my snow blower in the spring. Both are two-stroke Hondas.

That's what I do with my motorcycles (except for the RR which is fuel injected). I fill the tank with gas, shut the gas line off and run it dry. It's always worked good for me. However, I probably would not do that to my car :smile:
 
Everything that has a motor get stabilized fuel before storage. The NSX was in storage for around 4 months in a climate controlled area without stabilizer and it barely started. It took 2 bottles of Redline and 3 tanks of gas to finally get running smoothly. Tim

That's odd. I've stored my NSX in an unheated garage for 3-6 months for each of the past 14 winters. I've never used stabilizer, and I've never had any trouble whatsoever starting the car in the spring.
 
I stored my NSX for two seperate winters. Both times it was stored in a heated garage with a full tank of gas, and it was in a car capsule storage bubble. I used nothing the first year and Stabil the next year. I did not start the car once during either season. I noticed no noticable difference either time. Both times started right up and ran like I had been driving it the whole time.... like a Honda should :)

Don't know why, maybe because my car is not stock and runs an auxiliary injectors which could have been the problem but I have also had similar problems with our snowmobiles when I thought that I had summerized them but was mistaken.
