Do you remember the day you bought your NSX?

I'm sure some of us have had our NSX ownership last longer than our marriage...

Folks-

I was so excited to drive the car, that after my Wife and I went to the dealer to pick it up, I ditched her on the way home! This wouldn't be so bad, IF SHE KNEW HOW TO GET HOME, BUT SHE DIDN'T!!! She was relying on ME to follow! Oops! After 2 hours, she found her way home, but NSX and I were "grounded" for a while after that!!!

OK- here's mine- VERY memorable, but please no flames =)

After a 3 Month wait after depositing on the car I finally get it, pick it up and on the way back to the freeway along comes a brand new yellow C5 with a COCKY owner. I am caravaning with a bud's Yellow 3rd gen Rx7, so the C5 kind of rolls his eyes at us.

I don't do anything as I normally wouldnt but he keeps at it, and we eventually pull up to a left turn at a light. Now I know I will totally dust this guy if I spray on him if we went at it, but I'm still nervous as I've only driven the car about 3 miles. He takes off at the light once it gets straight he floors it and is gone, I didnt go at it, since he wasnt worth it, and both our cars could of blown his doors off.

So after he takes off, me and the Rx7 go from about 20-80mph just for fun, on a long stretch of road, as we approach about 80, a cop passes by the other way...luckily for us and the C5 who was WAAYYY gone, there was an island for a mile or so in between us and he couldnt go over and make a U-turn to bust us. We just keep going and jump on the freeway, catch up to the C5 since he saw him too.

We relaxed the whole way home, I thought for sure the cop would somehow get us...
here's my memorable pic =)

cmarsh90--

I got mine the Saturday after last Christmas. We did the paperwork and then I walked out, stared at it for a while, then grinned like a fool and thought to myself, "Holy crap! I own this car!"

Tonight, when I got home, I turned around on my way out of the garage and stared at it for a while, then grinned like a fool and thought to myself, "Holy crap! I own this car!"

I do it every damned day. No joke. It's just fantastic.

Congrats to your dad! May he grin often...

I had to spend one night at a hotel when driving my NSX home from Switzerland. I had the same experience when I came out to the parkinglot the next morning and my car was sparkling in the morning sun: "Holy crap! I own this car!"
It is such a great feeling!!!

I was within reach of buying a SECOND NSX in September last year and having another story....except this time the owner of the Sebring Silver that I had agreed to buy decided to back out on the deal right as I was getting ready to fly out and pick it up.....sigh...I guess the search goes on....but I still want to kick that guys butt.

I too had to spend a night at a hotel as I began the drive home. I couldn't get to sleep until 2:30 am that night at the hotel. 4 Hours later I was wide awake and began the 1100 mile drive home, with nothing but a

Well my father and mother finally made it home with the NSX. I met them at a family event and followed them home, I hadn't seen my father drive this way ever before, he was shall we say utilizing the performance of the car

When we got home he had a huge smile on his face, then I took it for a spin, and now I have a huge smile on my face

The first time I encountered an NSX was 1990 when my dad bought his brand new Sebring Silver and the 1st in Hong Kong. It was supposedly a gift for my mom but she resisted driving it shortly after she got pulled over twice. Ever since then, it became the ultimate toy of my older brothers. I didn't get to drive it until much later since something called a driver's license was needed.

The day when I finally got my own NSX was 1/19/2002. That day, I traded in my beloved Audi S4 plus 37 grand on top to acquire my baby. I was a bit upset to let go of my S4 since I really loved it but my dealer said, "Don't worry, you'll forget about it in 5 minutes." Apparently, all it took was 2 sets of lights plus 1 little incident.

Just like everybody, with a grin on my face, I pulled out of the dealership, having my friend following me in his 996 Turbo who came to my NSX ownership ceremony. After the 1st set of lights, we came across to a black S4 with 4 guys rolling down the window, heads sticking out, blasting their "cool" music. While thinking they were driving the hottest (but really, the S4 was hot, call me biased) car in that portion of the road, their eyes were rolling at my Kaiser Silver as I drove by and their jaws dropped when the Turbo passed them. Shortly after the process of being stunned, they turned down their music and wind up their illegal tinted windows. By then, I was approaching the 2nd set of lights, thinking happy for myself not to be mistaken with ignorant punks like them. Poor S4, I've had such a great time with that car but it was also time to say goodbye. Definitely a memorable day.
