Do you own a GruppeM boost gauge?

If anyone here owns the GruppeM boost gauge, the one that fits into the factory location of the voltmeter, can you answer a question for me.

I bought one off a prime member and the fuel gauge is not reading correctly in my car. It works but reads about 1/4 to 1/2 tank low. I put the factory gauge back and its fine.

I did some research and it turns out Honda's part #s for the fuel gauge pre and post 02 are different. The GM gauge came in a Honda box, with the part # on it being the pre-02 part #. This is why it is probably not working in my car, but I am wondering if some of the others can verify the part #'s for me.

If you have a GM gauge in a post 2002 car, can you please tell me the Honda part # on the box?

I have a GM boost gauge, and it's reading 1/2 tank high - I have a 1994 nsx.

The part number on the box is:
78140-SL0-013

What is your part number? The gauge I have was just installed 2 weeks ago, it was a replacement after the originally-ordered gauge didn't read boost - the fuel gauge in the first (faulty) gauge also read 1/2 tank high.

Perhaps you have a gauge for early cars, and I have one for later cars?

Yeah thanks Dave. Don't know what I'd do without ya...

Scorp, that is the exact # that I have on my box. I called Honda, that is the gauge # for 1991 to 2001 cars. You may have a different issue. The part #'s are:

Pre-02 part #
78140-SL0-013

Post 02 part #
78140-SL0-023

Maybe all the people that keep saying NSX's are all the same can stop because it seems a lot of parts have changed over the years. I am trying to find out if GruppeM is aware of this. I have anotrher issue in that my gauge faces are dark blue... and the GM gauges are only made in black. :frown:

Is there a way to calibrate the gauge? Once my fuel level gets under a half tank, and the needle starts moving, it moves at the correct rate, it just doesn't move until I have gone ~150 miles. I assume your gauge also moves at the correct rate, it is just 1/2 tank low?

fwiw, this is the second gauge I have installed from gruppe M, and both have operated in the same way (1/2 tank high), the original gauge functions as it should, and the boost on this replacement gauge also works fine, but the fuel level is high. Perhaps, if your fuel level is low by 1/2 tank, and my fuel level is high by 1/2 tank, we could swap gauges and see if this fixes the problem, although I recall hearing something about fuel level calibration being possible. I installed my gauge with a completly full tank, fwiw.

Have you tried contacting gruppeM about the issue? I left a message today. This is strange. I am assuming the part #'s being different is what is causing my issue... Mojo that I bought the gauge from swears it worked perfect in his car. So I can't even say this one was bad from the beginning. Did you buy yours new?

My stock civic does this exact same thing.......

Did you guys ever resolve this? I just installed a GruppeM and now suffer from the same issue.

Any help is appreciated and much needed!

I had my issue resolved by sending the gauge back to GruppeM for a re-do. The gaugues on different years are different. From what I was told, I then had the only gauge that would work properly in 02+ cars but I sold it since. It was a one-off. But you can contact GruppeM and see what they can do for you.
