wass up y'all! Southwest region here. Im moving to Seattle in June, from
Dallas.

People have been telling me I should sell the nsx cause no one drives or owns nice cars in the rain?

is there any truth to this? should I sell my 92?

also, Im considering bringing it up there and THEN selling it. Any thoughts? I hear prices are more up there.

oh and I guess I noticed the meet on april 28th, that inspired me to keep and bring the nsx. You'll keep having them right?

Plenty of us having nsx up here in the NW. Not sure the activities at Dallas... In our group, except 3-4 guys who's actively meeting up, we don't really have an organized club. We mainly initial a meet in Prime, and Polar will send the meet news to the newsletter via email. We tend to have good turn ups in terms of numbers in summer months. There are also few of us going to track regularly and we have a Mt. Baker drive every year in summer.

Don't sell the NSX. There were many of us driving it in the rain and snow/ice. Your freind were somewhat right, you might get tired of dealing with the daily logistics of driving a nsx (in and out of rush hour traffic) among all the careless idiots out there. At that point, you may get something cheap and save gas for daily commute.

sounds like you guys need more action. :) I helped organize the nsx dallas club down here in Dallas, after Chris Anders moved up to Seattle (Im sure you know him). Lets see what we can muster up in Seattle.

One reason Im moving up there is the drives. We only have flat roads here, dont get to use the "on-the-rails" capabilities of the nsx.

I'll be driving up june 11th and be in Seattle by the 13th! see y'all after that.
Is there a meet in June?

He!! yeah we own and drive NSXs in the Seattle area...FYI it rarely ever snows in Seattle..Last year was odd because we had a couple days of snow..most winters we get none.

And as for the rain?...NYC gets more inches of rain in a year than we do, we have more gray days but it's not necessarily raining.

There will be one more up there when I retire in a few years...

And, FWIW... I love the rain, I love driving in the rain, and MOST of all... I LOVE DRIVING MY NSX IN THE RAIN! (unfortunately we don't get much of that here in SoCal. )

My wife and I are trying to spark more drives and get-togethers. The group meet in April had a great turn out. Contact us when you get in town.

Thanks

As far as organized events, do a search on nsxprime.com and s2ki.com regarding the annual MT Baker Drive in August. We have been averaging 35-40 cars between the NSX & S2000 clubs, and each year it's becoming more of a major event. If you can not find any photos just let me know and I'll post some again. The event will be tentatively scheduled this year for August 26th, a Sunday. We leave the Kirkland park and ride about 7:15am and return by 5:00pm. We normally have the entire White Salmon Ski Lodge to ourselves with Mt Shuksan in the background only 2 miles away, I know the General Manager at Mt Baker Ski Area. Everyone loves this event, hope to see you there.

man, I cant WAIT to join this mt. Baker drive. That will be amazing. Count me in. It'll be me and my wife even though she hates how low and "rigid" the drive is. I bet she'll come for mt. Baker. She's from there, and loves Seattle.

I'll look for pics ... and drop a note when I get in.

by the way, you guys have any good dealer-alternatives out there?

Ugh....you want to move to Seatle to drive more? You do know that Seatle has one of the worst traffic in all of America right? I can not fathom drving a NSX in rush hour in Seatle....

who would drive their NSXs in the rush hours anyway?
I do sometime, and it's a blast!! But then of course, I'll rather drive my nsx on the track or canyon... Those on ramp traffic regulating lights are annoying as hell with the nsx's tall gearing.

Exitspeed, just for you, I dug out some of our meets in Rain:
First Mt. Baker Drive: http://forums.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=212812
we had been gather up and do some go karting in Feb! http://www.nsxprime.com/forums/showthread.php?t=63568
We had a group drive to Vancouver BC, and the whole day was pouring rain!!!

Exitspeed, it will be great if you will help organizing some meets and drives. As I knew that Polar will be in and out of the country next year and none of the active members have chance to do that.

I probably need to get a beater once Im up there. My nsx has mostly been a weekend car until recently when I sold the beamer to move up! soo .. once I get in, I'll get another "automatic" beater which makes rush hour easier to handle.

pics are awesome ... Im going to show em to my wife, she's from up there.

later!

and my real name is Moazzam!
