DIY Painting wheels?

I sprayed my wheels with the dupli wheel paint and a clear coat with good results.

The gun metal one is the best as dirt doesn't show up.

To me the most time consuming part is masking and taping the tires.

I did the wheels on my '92 and they turned out great. Re: the scratches, I sanded the wheels and needed to use a little body filler on some gouges.Given the shape my wheels were in , I took a good bit of time priming and wet sanding to make them perfect. Re: paint, I used Griot's silver wheel paint/clearcoat. It's very slightly more metallic than the stock color. It sprays on nicely and evenly looks great. Obviously, for painted wheels you need to ask technitians to be extra careful in mounting tires. They were able to do mine w'o and major mars .
