I am considering purchasing a cheap digital tach that I've seen on eBay for servicing, etc. These are the clamp on type where you are supposed to clamp them on your spark plug wires but since the NSX uses coils, will these work? Thanks in advance.

Thanks Drew. Using that plug, I guess I would not be able to use the "non-contact" type tachometers. I guess an automotive Multimeter would be required. Thanks.

Check the service manual. I believe that there is a wire loop near the throttle body that is used for the clamp on sensor. The tach output signal on the test connector is from the ECU and not intended to drive a load.
