Difference between front and rear coil packs

Changed the plugs today and found that I have 4 "RR" coil packs and 2 "FR" packs;

What is the difference between them, I can't tell (Except the "F")
I put the odd pack back where it was.

I did a search and learned a lot, but didn't see any post showing the difference.

Should I be concerned - do I need to get another "FR" pack?

Thanks

It seems like a previous owner or shop has replaced on of your Front (F) coil packs with a rear. RR = Rear, FR = Front coil pack.

You're fine having rear coil packs on the front.

Get stencil and repaint them....there is no other difference.

It has been nearly 20 years and we're still trying to figure out why they are even labeled at all.

+1. I have mind mixed as well. No difference just make sure there is no corrosion.

Is'nt switching around the coil packs one way of diagnosing rough running issues...that maybe why second or third hand owners are seeing this.

It's also a darn good way to mess up the universe - once and for all mister.
