I was in Daytona this past weekend for Spring Break, YIPEE !!!
Anyway, I saw a 91-92(no pass air bag) red NSX that looks almost exactly like mine so I had to walk up and look at it. Upon peering thru the window I noticed it has RED leather seats! The rest of the interior was black. The seats appeared to be the stock design but red in color. Whoa!!
The tag was Ohio plate read 'CNTCATCH '.
Very clean car though.

matching interior color wasnt offered until the 02

Must have been custom. The only colors those years were black and ivory.

A lot of people are matching their interiors with the exterior, like on the 2002+.

Another possibility is that he bought OEM seats (or the OEM leather covers) from a 2002-03 NSX and had them put into his '91-92 NSX. It certainly didn't come that way from the factory.

Or he may have imported it from other countries. I believe that red interior was available for other countries even in the earlier years like this car.

I'm sure that the other, more conservative interior colors that we have are also available in foreign markets in addition to the garish ones shown here.
