Did you hate GM for bittin' the NSX with the last gen. Camaro?

The thread about the NSX's spoiler below and how perfect it is from the factory got me thinking about how GM bit the NSX's spoiler and blacked out canopy design. Did it tick you off? It was so obvious that Car & Driver TV mentioned that in doing so they (GM) might have contributed to the fall of NSX sell. In short "Joe Blow could pass off a Camaro as a NSX to the uninformed." and with more power.

If anyone's truly confused between a Camaro and a NSX...then their opinion doesn't matter.

Some would say that the NSX designers borrowed from 959's rear spoiler...

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

I agree with the 959 look. I never really did like the back of Porsche's but the 959 is an exception and has pretty cool looking vents.

The NSX's rear end is way better looking!

Funny topic. Just this past Saturday at a local car show I mistook a Camaro's roof lines for an NSX, and was all excited until I got a better look at the car.

I have been debating whether or not to post about this subject, so thank you for bringing it up. Three times a week I commute in my co-workers new 2002 Camaro SS (SLP). He went from ASTRO van to muscle car over night, not a good thing. Every chance he gets; he hits the LOUD pedal resulting in nausea or instant whiplash for me! His acclaimed 345 horse powered car dose have a lot torque but seems to flatten out at about 100mph. The tachometer Red lines at 5k or a bit passed. He claims he will blow the doors off an NSX! I told him not likely!!! I do see some distinctive lines that resemble the NSX.
One more thing... He purchased the car for $42,000 (Now that is funny)

A SLP Camaro SS is pretty fast. A stock NSX might have a problem on the street.

These cars can usually turn 13.0 - 13.3 in the 1/4 mile.

JIMBO,
You are right. In a straight line the Camaro SS (SLP) would more than likely take the NSX. But add a few twisties to the equation and it could very well turn out different? I guess if it comes down to Muscle, I can sick the Amazing power of Gerry Johnson’s NSX on the CAMARO. Lol… IMO, The Camaro doesn’t feel stable with all that power? Just not my cup of tea I guess.
