Omg! What the hell happened in the pit-stop with Jenson Button!!

Why can't Honda just get everything right for once   Button always rocks the qualifications but when the main race is, he always get something wrong

Btw started to get bored the last 20 laps with Alonso sniffing Schumi's behind all the way to the end

Formula 1 is so cool. I'm hooked. Love it :)

Goooooooooooooooooooooooo Honda!

I saw it....was waiting for Button to get out of his car and smack the flagger who told him to GO when the fuel thing was still hooked up to his car. Wonder if they are going to do a Donald Trump...YOU'RE FIRED!! At least they still got a few points, thats better than nothing. More races yet to go.

interesting race in which Buttons flag man raised his flag early to leave before the fueling rig had been removed..big boo boo!!! anyway as far as F1 goes it was a decent race however when a network covers F1 there are WAY to many commercial breaks and the commentary is NOT as good as Speedchannel.

Jenson seems to think they had a chance at a podium today, but I really have to disagree with him. All these great qualifying runs are obviously done on light fuel loads. Yeah he did a decent job staying with Shu in the beginning of the race, but the Ferrari had a heavier load. Same as the Renaults and MacLarens. I hate to say it, but Honda is the #4 team now. They can blame it on bad luck, but they just don't have the race pace. And what's up with Rubens getting smoked off the line by Massa and Alonso? Still, looking foward to Germany.

Re: C'mon Ralph, Derek,

you can do better than that. For some reason, both of them were off their game calling that race. I like Derek and usually put up with his pounding on his favorite expressions ("like a scalded cat") but he was just ridiculous yesterday. And they just couldn't get in sync with each other to save their lives. And if that wasn't enough, they gave us zippo on the rest of the field. It was like there were only 2 cars out there past the 1/2 way point.

Varsha, Hobbs and Matchett were really missed yesterday.

I couldn't agree more. The main Honda team is in shambles. They definitely have the qualifying speed, though no doubt due to an extremely light fuel load, but they just can't carry it over with any pace during the actual race. Once those 1st pit stops start occuring, I just cringe because I know it's all over from that point on for the team. :frown: Sure, his flagman or "lollipop" man deserves some blame for sending him out with the fuel nozzle still attached, but that's not what lost JB this race or any other race where he's considered a contender. I think it starts from the top down, from the technical director down to the pit crew. They're just not a very good in-synch team at the moment IMO.

It's pretty clear Honda is behind the curve a bit but there is hope.

Honda's cars are just not fast enough. The light loads are the only thing keeping the car quick.

The team needs better strategy overall and dare I say better personnel.

Button is skilled enough but he's got a ways to go. Rubens has issues. He's frankly just not talented enough. His best year came in a far superior car with a far superior teammate.

Honda might have deserved a podium but they also deserved one in Australia which Button coughed up well before the car exploded.

They can make a run but they need to get their act together. The car can be improved also.

Varsha, Hobbs, Matchett & Windsor rule.

^^^ totally agree, except for the comment on Ruben, he might not be competitive against some other drivers, but he was one of the better driver available to be pick up last year. And his experience should helps the team.... (or supposed to...):frown:

Maybe I was a bit too hard on Rubens. I meant the comment more to mean that he's not the driver that's going to take Honda to the promised land. I don't see him becoming any better than he is now and he's not champion material now.

But in terms of experience and filling the seat he's more than adequate, but adequacy doesn't win championships. I don't know what Honda's paying him but I'm sure it was a relative bargain and I hope they put that extra dough into making the cars a tad quicker.

Man, the Ferraris and the Renaults are so darn fast--and no real engine trouble for either...

I'd love to see what Davidson can do in a race. He's an animal in qualifying so far this year. But I do think Rubens should be in the points every race. He was brought in so Honda would have scoring 2 cars. Time to produce.

The first stop of JB wasn't perfect at all, 15 seconds for a 3 stop-strategy is much too much, normally it's about 9 seconds :( The second one was visibly bad.
The car's were not competitive in Imola. I wouldn't beat on Rubens till now. He had some problems with the car but I wonder why they didn't sort them out during the winter-tests.

CBS coverage is horrible. Speed does much better job.

Agree. It was nice watching the rebroadcast on Speed yesterday. Besides seeing the race from a much better perspective in commentary and video feeds, the post race interviews weren't cut off like they were by C-BS.
