According to the FAQ the Sequential Serial Number like "000660" at the end of the vin# tells you what number in the production line your car was built/sold. So does "660" mean this was six hurdred and sixty nsx sold or made in 91?

Correct if i'm wrong.

Thanks

Just to add: As we found out in another thread there are different cars with the same end numbers of the same model year in different countries - e.g.: I have a 0004 of '98 and at least one car in U.S. has the same.

The last eight characters of the VIN should be unique across all markets.

Because the first 60 or so VINs in the 1991 model year were not sold to the public, VIN MT000660 is approximately the 600th 1991 NSX made for, and sold to, the U.S. market, not the 660th.

That's what the FAQ (link provided above) says:

"For the US VIN numbers, the first 1991 car available for sale was 000063; all lower numbers were pre-production prototypes.

Cars sold outside the US have slightly different VIN number formats.* For example, NSX's built for the Canadian market have their own sequence number range, starting with 800001 each year."
