Take a look at this picture...The header is barley less than 4 months old...can this header be rewelded? Any advice?

The NSX has never been driven hard. Professionally installed...actually by Factor X...good people BTW.

DC Sports Header...aren't they the same as the Comptech?

Maybe I should have gone with Taitec?

Being only 4 months old, you would think there would be some type of warranty. Perhaps the manufacturer would even "goodwill" the fix.

good luck

NO! They are NOT the same as comptech. DC makes some of the highest bhp output headers for Hondas, but every once and awhile a mfg glitch will happen. On the NSX, this did happen a bit on the earlier runs. You said it was on the car for 4 months, but how old is the header? (could have been mfg years ago, and sat in someone's inventory) Nevertheless, it will be 100% covered by DC, and they may cover removal and re-install labor as well. Get on the phone Tues morning!

I wonder if I could put a clamp on it or something that would kind of temporary seal the break in the weld? Anybody try this before?

The header was bought by the Factor X people and installed by them as well. If I remember correctly, they had to order it, so I believe it is a "newer" design and was not in their inventory for many months or years.

Well I talked with Devin Pearce at Payn Technologies...the header needs to come off and be replaced...that was my fear...

I called DC sports...they need to "visually inspect" the header and determine if it is "under warranty"...no promises on replacing it or compensation of labor for the removal and replacement of the header....

I have decided to go with a new header from Comptech...it has a different design (screws and springs) which supposedly is a more better design.

As for the DC sports header...I will send it back to them in Coruna, CA and see what they customer service is like...very disappointing...out 1600 bucks for the new Comptech header!

MYSTICAN,
I had the same problem. Check out this link if you are interested in getting yours fixed. I did mine 4,000 miles ago and they are working great.

I think this addresses the one weakness of the DC sports headers which are closer to an equal length header than the Comptech, plus quite a bit cheaper.

Good luck how ever you end up going with this, bummer it happened :( .

Ouch, that must suck  :(. Well, I have DC Sports Headers and I will be inspecting them very soon. Assuming that you didn't visually see it at first, how did you find out your headers was like this? Could you tell a sound diff or something?
