Days of Our NSX Lives, Book 1, Chapter 2

Just to let you guys know...I use the Factor X baffled pan...never had any problems with it...still has the turbo port attached....but it works...

ARC makes a pan....don 't know anything about how good it is...

Best is a dry sump lubrication system...hard to do on the NSX...less windage and therefore hopefully more power...

I think that Honda should have done this when it first came out with the NSX...

so how good is the ARC baffled pan? I just found a reliable sorce that I can get it for less than $1000 shipped. Is that a worthwhile investment with the upgraded SOS oil pump gear??

Andrie, I'm sorry, maybe I should do a search on the accusump first.

What's the ball park of the expense of
1. the accusump you installed??

2. Your dry sump system?

3. Oil pump gear, ARC baffled pan and possibly a oil cooler? (should be less than $2000)

I'm trying to find the cheapest, acceptably reliable ways to prevent the oil starvation problem. I don't have the premium of racing around the country in the nsx. So getting an inexpensive track toy is on my plan. Meanwhile I'll still track my nsx before I purchase the track toy. With that goal, I don't really need any all out full racing mods on the nsx.

Hey Andrie,
I'm very interested in the dry sump pan. Where did you get yours and how much did it cost? I'm working ont NSX race car project and I need a drysump pan to get then engine as low as possible.

We got ours from Comptech.
see above for price.

You will not be able to lower the engine unless you change the tranny. The tranny will be the limiting factor.

Andrie, you got me sold..... how difficult is the accusump in rear fender installation? Does the rear fender liner still be able to keep in place after the install?

Where do I send the check to? :)

About $500 give or take a little

about $2000 not including lines.

Do you think the Accusump is "good enough" for say a 4-5 club event/season NSX? I understand that the Accusump only is working when the oil pump loses oil pressure (hard cornering) And it can pump oil up to 60 seconds, until the oem pump can take over. I am guessing this is fine, since I am guessing a oem system only loses pressure in some turns, and only for a few seconds.

Would you also reccomend a baffled pan? or would that not be needed with the sump? Also how about an oil cooler?

I want to to the Accusump for sure this winter, but I also want to cover all things needed.

Ferrand,
Yes, fender liner still be able to keep in place.
I can help you get all the needed parts for accusump. Email me at andrie"at"gmail"dot"com

Accusump is definitely enough. Accusump with baffle will be the best. But then I don't run baffling, even in my race cars. Only accusump. Putting oil cooler in when putting accusump seem sensible thing to do. As plumbing it in is easy and cost increase is also not that bad.
