Has anyone tried Cryo the stock size brake rotors and seen any longitivity gains throughout track usage? My blank rotors developed small stress cracks everywhere after about 4 events and now give me vibration when braking. I believe I can get this done for about $30 per rotor.

Mine did the same on the fronts with about the same track use with the Cryo treatment on OEM 97 rotors. But then I was seeing temps close to 500F on the fronts and 600+F in the rears with Carbotech Panther Plus pads and Dali deflectors on the front without the dust shield on the front. Small stress crack is normal and OK to drive on the streets, but if they reach the edge, or widen enough that you can catch them with your nail, then you need to discard them.

I now use the 2 piece DaliRacing floating rotors (the original template) which did not have Cryo treatment. After some 4-5 track events and similar temps, they are holding quite well. YMMV.

The only people who I have spoken with that are big on cryo treatment of rotors are the people who do the cryo treatment.

I have always chosen to put the money toward a new set(partial set) of rotors

I would love to hear from someone who is happy with the treatment

Does Daliracing still carry these for 91-94 NSX's ?? What year is yours ? How long ago did you purchase yours ? I've been looking for the floating 2-pc rotors forever....it appears they're the best thing money can buy to use on the stock calipers but for some reason no one wants to sell them anymore !?!?

If I'm not mistaken, Stoptech still sells them. But you have to call and ask for them, and they don't always have them in stock.

Stoptech resumed offering the 2-piece Aerorotors in the stock NSX size (fronts anyway, can't confirm the rears) back in February 2005. I hadn't heard anything about them being unavailable again. I received mine in early March. Dali Racing's site says they're currently in stock.

I was not aware they had resumed offering them, good to know thou, they are a quality replacement rotor and weren't all that too $$$.

Just got off the phone with Howard from Stoptech itself. Yes, due to demand they have reproduced these front 2-pc aerorotors for the 91-96 NSX's and have them in stock* For those who don't know, they're the best rotor upgrade money can buy for the *stock calipers* ...just ordered my set today

IMHO its a waste of money, for track use spend your money on 2 piece rotors. For street use one piece rotors are fine. One piece rotors crack because every time you get metal really hot when it cools it gets a little smaller so as the outside of the rotor shrinks the center hat does not so at some point the rotor has to crack. Again this applies to track use, the little bit of heat you get with street driving is not high enough to shrink it.

I have two piece rotors and I have got them so hot that the caps on the valve stems melted from the radiant heat coming off of them and I have had no cracking or other problems. With one piece stock rotors they were mostly shot after one track event.
