I have to turn the car over for about 2-3 second before the car will start. I had this problem in my Porsche and it turned out to be a check valve that holds fuel pressure when the car is not running.

Does the NSX have a simular valve? Is it replaceable? Built in the pump?

I don't know about the NSX having a check valve in the system; however, I can relate.

I replaced my OEM fuel pump with an aftermarket high-volume, high-pressure fuel pump earlier this week. I immediately noticed how much sooner (1 sec vs 3-4 secs) the engine fired. Ostensibly, because more gasoline is being squirted into the combustion chamber, sooner.

It also solved an abnormally lean condition from 7-8000 RPM, with no other adjustments. You BBSC NSXers should know what I'm talking about.

What was the fuel pump, and where did you get it?

Walbro.

Don't have the paperwork in front of me...do search for the Walbro distributor in the Dallas Metroplex.

If you have no luck, private me and I'll dig out the info.

I think you'll be pleasantly impressed with the price.

Walbro 255ltr/hr

specifically

FPH005 255 ltr/hr kit for 91-00 Acura NSX
http://www.autoperformanceengineering.com/

its listed in the in tank pump section...

Great service good price... they offer 3 different capacities for the NSX, most BBSC'ers we are using the 255(middle of the road) very good results.

good kit, direct fit, comes with everything needed, pretty simple, we did it in the garage. we took our sweet time, but I could see the whole thing done first time in 1 day, we could prolly do one again in under 6hrs.

just a side note, dont fill the car up before you decide to do the pump..... we drained 11.5 gallons outta the tank....

So is this problem attributed to a weak stock pump???

I dont think its due to a weak stock pump, but more to the higher demand that the BBSC with 440 injectors requires to tune properly, some stock pumps I've seen were fine with a BBSC, some weren't, its more just the life of the pump... Some need it..
