It is impossible to go up in fifth. Just before the chicane I go back from fifth to fourth and than it's full throttle up hill. But I can tell you, it is a hell of a chicane. You have to take it in the right way. If you don't, this will be the sad result (also a NSX Trophy competitor). He crashed into the barriers just on top of Eau Rouge:Ponyboy said:Awesome pics!
Curious. How do you setup for that corner? Flat out?
docjohn said:That is an amazing section. The F1 cars going up were on the edge flat-out,but some newbie pilots were lifting abit.
Another one:gheba_nsx said:Nice photos! Have more?![]()
The problem with Spa is, that most of the time one of the two races in the Trophy weekend is a wet race. And I can tell you, it is frightning for the first time. But after a few laps it will be the most exciting experience you will ever have on track.Ponyboy said:I think this is a track I'd love in the dry and one I'd hate in the rain.
I have short gears and the 4.23 end ratio.Ponyboy said:Gerard, do you have the 4.55 gears?

This section is the hottest I know of. As you can see on the picture, a lot of stress is on the left front suspension of the car. This gives you an idea of the G-force in this corner. If you hit the curbs in the wrong way (and you will, if you don't turn in the right way at the start of the chicane) you will end in the barriers.VBNSX said:I honestly can't even imagine taking a turn like that... at VIR i do the esses at about 115...
I can't even imagine doing a turn at 140 ish...
that has got to be one REAL... i mean.... REAL gut checker..
BTW... the picture looks super hot... unfortunately, I'm sure the picture doesn't do it any justice of how fun it really was...

Yes. Sad, very sad.. :frown:DutchBlackNsx said:The European NSX Throphy goes around the major F1 tracks (Magny Cours, Monza, Spa) and from all those tracks, Spa is the most amazing by far.
Just one of those things you should have done once in your life.....
Biggest problem though, is that EVERY year, someone from our club has serious damage, and we are only with a few....
Hi Kevin,j14nsx said:In 2003 the rear of the car would go light at the top of the hill, as you have to start a left turn before the crest of the hill.
This year my new rear wing, put a stop to that, and I could accelerate as fast as the car would go up and over the hill. I'll be the first to admit I take it pretty easy at the chicane at the bottom though.
As seen here
This is the Spa 2003 video file:Gerard van Santen said:Yes. Sad, very sad.. :frown:
Later on today, I will put a video file on my server of last years Trophy at Spa. It will be possible to download the file, but you have to realise it is almost 500MB. This video, taken in and outside of my NSX, gives you an impression of the most legendary circuit in the world.
I will upload a smaller one later. Perhaps that will shorten download time.Troll said:Works fine, cant wait to see it, 5 hours to go. Puh
