11 Days out and counting to the Comptech visit. I spoke with Nate today to get some expectations down. So here is the scoop.
Comptech will open their doors for us from 10:00 until 1:00. They will have the garage area, machine shop and the engine dyno rooms open. They will also have a number of products for the NSX out on the display. On the dyno will be one of the cars they are working on. It could be Kip's car or one of the ones they are installing a supercharger on that week. They will not be dyno'ing cars from the group that drives up. (If you get your order in for the super charger and big brake kit this week, you can probably talk Shad in to putting your car up next Saturday).
Nate is going to bring a bunch of stuff over from the warehouse to sell to people that are interested. It will be mostly the small stuff, so if there is an item in the catalog that you want to take home, give Nate a call (916-939-9118x112) to make sure he pulls it from the warehouse. Purchases will be by credit card only. They do not have the facilities to handle cash transactions on site. But again, if you have that $10K roll of bills burning a hole in your pocket and you really want the super charger or the high performance heads, call Nate ahead of time, I am sure he can work something out. NSXCA members, bring your membership card it is worth a 10% discount. If you are not a member, there is still time to join (http://join.nsxca.org). The discount on a $400 purchase will pay your membership.

I am willing to try and find us a place, but I need to know what type of restaurant you are interested in. I am assuming that the majority are interested in a ~$10 with drinks (non-alcohol) meal in a place that has good parking. We may end up with a place like Macaroni Grill or equivelent. Parking will probably be the deciding factor. If enough people respond back that they are feeling rich and want something in say the $20 price range, I will move the standard up. Speak now (before Friday, 11/4) or be happy with what gets chosen. I will also need people to mail me at [email protected] if they are coming to lunch (say how many in your party) by 11/4 so I can try to get a place reserved.

9 days to go till the Comptech open house. Are people in the bay area starting to think about getting caravans together yet? Would be neat to see 30 NSX's tooling up Hwy 50.
Only 8 Days to go for the Comptech meet. So far I have only had about 6 cars (10 people) tell me that they are interested in lunch afterwards. I am going to get a place for us reserved tomorrow, I will only be reserving as much space as I have requests from people for.
I need RSVP's by tonight or Saturday morning (early) at the latest if you want to join the group for lunch.
Sorry to be hard about this, but I don't want to reserve space for 50 and end up with only 10 showing up.

Since I need to tell the restaurant how many people will show up for lunch, I am adding a column to this list for those that have RSVP'd and the number in their party. If you want to eat lunch with the group, append 'Lunch-' and the number in your party to the line with your name on it. (1 if it just you). What ever count I have on Wednesday night is what I will tell the restaurant. If you change your mind late and decide to come, you may or may not get to sit at the table with everyone else. If you say yes and do not show, I may come looking for you to pay your share if we do a buffet.

Lunch Plans
After picking up suggestions from the locals, I have settled on BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse in Folsom. This is a micro brewery chain with decent food and a wide selection of beers. I have reserved a room off to the side that seats 56 people. There is an adjacent parking lot that serves a building that has not been built yet so it is empty except for the BJ employee parking in one corner.
If we have over 25 people sign up for lunch, then we are on the buffet plan. The buffet is all of the pizza (assorted types and very good), pasta (Alfredo and Marinara), a Caesar Salad and unlimited softdrinks. The total price, including tax and tip is $17 per person. Beer, wine, and well drinks are available on a cash and carry basis (you pay the waiter when they deliver your drink).

If you want to join us, please add your name to the previous posting before Wednesday night so I can give the restaurant an accurate count. If you are uncertain, do not put your name on the list. If you decide on Saturday to tag along, there may or may not be room for you at the table and you may have to order on your own. If you put our name on the list and then do not show without giving me ample notice. I will come looking for you to pay your share of the buffet cost. Sorry to be hard nosed, but that is the way the restuarant works.
