So,

With my great luck I was driving home last night and there was a truck tire blowout in front of me that I was unable to avoid. Ran it over and it ended up smashing the lower part of my front bumper and now my transmission won't return back to the neutral centre point (manual) unless I force it. So what I mean is that lets say I pull it left to shift to either 1st or 2nd, and then let go, it returns halfway to centre, instead of returning back in between 3rd and 4th.

Where should I take it? My insurance company told me to go to a bodyshop but who accounts for the transmission??

Any advice? (I'm so stressed out and upset:frown:)

I'm in East Toronto. Oh and to add to it all I'm getting married in a week, really didn't need this to happen now:S

Everyone is at Est Fest this weekend in Muskoka - so they probably aren't checking Prime. I'd take it to Erin Mills (I know it's West TO, but they're the best with NSXs).

You could post in the Est Fest post - they may see it.

Sorry about that, it would really suck.

That bites!

My advice is if you can, stuff it in a garage until the more important things are over and deal with it then.

I have no idea what could be wrong with the transmission but I would inspect the underside of the car before you drive it. Make sure you still have fluid and there are no obvious dents under there.

Sorry to hear. 22 owners are still at est fest this weekend. I will take biobanker's advice and wait to do anything after the wedding. Then Flatbed it to Erin Mills or Acura of Oakville to have it checked out. Erin Mills has a collision center and maybe easier, but our resident technical director (Robert) is based out of Oakville. Either of these dealers will honor 20% discounts if you are a member of NSXCC ($50) so this is a good time to take advantage if you want certified NSX tech to fix your car.

Really sorry to hear about this. Most of what happened to the car can be repaired. The important thing is that you are okay. This could have been a lot worse.

Hi if you can get it towed to Acura of Oakville and I will take a look at it mon morn. Have it towed there mon. We do ins. Repairs also. Sounds to me that the shifter cables are damaged which run under he car.

Thanks so much for the help guys really appreciated. I will definitely go ahead and purchase the membership and yea the important thing is that no one was injured during this little ordeal.

I will focus on the more important things right now (getting married!), and deal with the car in a week or so.

I'll update you guys when I send it off for repairs :)

Consider calling John (jdmracer) he works on NSX's a lot, owns the yellow na2 and sold me his na1.

Great body shop. It's called ABM AUTO CENTER.

I think moving those shifter cables around a bit will fix it.

Move 1st to 3rd, 2nd to 5th, 3rd to reverse, 4th to 1st and 5th to 2nd and you'll be in good shape.

Congrats on getting married! As everyone else has stated, don't stress yourself out about the car -- Rob will get it sorted out and you'll be back up and running in no time.

Hey guys!

I just wanted to give a quick update as I've been busy being married:biggrin:

The car was sent to Acura of Oakville under Rob's care and he did a phenomenal job fixing everything. On top of that, Rob is a stand up guy who explained everything in complete detail and gave me all my options as to how I could go about the repairs.

Thanks everyone for the info/advice. I'm back to being a happy NSX owner, well a happy MARRIED NSX owner!

Sidenote: Is anybody participating in the Yorkville exotics charity car show on June 17th? It's to support prostate cancer research and I put my car in there, just wondering if I'll be seeing any other NSX's there?

So is your car all fixed and back in your possession? Ditto on Robert's work and Acura of Oakville. They have been our most reliable resource for repairs and maintenance work.

As for the charity drive, it maybe tough being (Jun 17) father’s day and all but you should post a separate note on the Canadian page for sign up.

Notwithstanding, NSXCC has an event on Jun 16. You should come out and meet some of the members and share your stories.

What's the best way to get a hold rob from Acura?

Yea my car is fixed and back in my possession. I also saved a ton of money by registering for the NSXCC:biggrin: It's definitely worth it!

Unfortunately I can't make the event this weekend :frown:
